I thought some of you would enjoy his work. If any of you ever get to see his stuff up close, definitely go. I saw his shit in New York and at the Power Plant a few years ago and I left both galleries blown away.

Finally this guy is gettin' some international recognition. We're going to be seeing more of him soon.

Brian Jungen creates totems and Aboriginal masks out of Air Jordans, bringing up issues of consumer tribalism and neo-capitalist "customs."
His work really radiates with me.

His plastic lawn chair creature is also amazing.

What do people think of his stuff?

Meh...I don't really agree.
"The medium is the message" has been done.
Art makes a tired point in a cliched way once again.

I don't mean to be harsh; guess it's not my thing.
I'll admit that the lawnchair piece is clever though :)

If this guy came to Toronto I would check out his work. His art looks great! I like the way he balances shapes and colours… makes his work look very clean.

He already showed here at the Power Plant a few years ago.

Only now is he the hot artist of the month. All the publications are after him.

I think that's great considering he's Canadian and his work is very simplistic. Not too many bells and whistles.

Here's another guy who just came out with a book. I went to see his work at the new MoMa just last summer (one of the highlights of my trip) after seeing him in a few magazines. I was again blown away.

His mural size photographs are of empty spaces and domestic scenes COMPLETELY MADE OUT OF PAPER.

Can you imagine the work that went into all this? Yikes.

Demand, yeah his work is really good. I've seen some in various books, but it's been ages since I"ve had a good look.

me likes. It did not catch my eye like the splooge thread did, but this is far more interesting.

Do you know when either of these artists/their work will be coming to the GTA?
