With all due respect, it is a matter of physics that a piece of lead moving at super sonic speeds will deform under those conditions. There is no need to move that fact to the conspiracy thread.

Thanks captain obvious, but as stated above - I was was clearing up claims about *trajectory* and how a "magic bullet" isn't need to satisfy a problem of trajectory with JFK because there is in fact, no problem of trajectory as a straight line existed between everything the bullet hit and the sniper's nest.

I suggested we move to the conspiracy thread because we are polluting a thread on a *different* Dallas shooting with a lot of talk on JFK.

If you or recoil would like to talk about bullet deformities - and how some bullets in pictures look different than others, and how physics should affect them (and whether two bullets, *should* in fact look similar when fired under different conditions) and whether the "single bullet" of conspiracy lore looks so undamaged that it must be "magic" - then let's do it in the conspiracy thread, instead of continuing to discuss JFK here.

I made no specific claim about deformities that should or shouldn't be there on bullets and the related physics, knowing that unpacking this would take more than a few posts from everyone interested, so lets do it in the proper place if people are interested. THat's what its there for.

Dallas Sniper Connected to Black Separatist Hate Groups on Facebook

"Micah Xavier Johnson, the man identified by police as the sniper who shot 12 law enforcement officers at a protest in Dallas last night, was a fan of black separatist hate groups monitored by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Johnson liked on Facebook the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), the Nation of Islam and the Black Riders Liberation Party, all listed by the SPLC as hate groups."

Looks like another example of online radicalization/extremist ideology. So many live-wire vectors to this kind of thing in America with a constant boilover of nativist and white nationalist violence/islamic terror and the african american extremists had been in abeyance, relatively speaking. Maybe that's changing now.

Calls for 'Race War' in the Aftermath of Dallas Police Shootings

White racist extremists reacted to the killings of five police officers during a peaceful protest in Dallas, Tex., by predicting a race war.

While antigovernment extremist organizations like the Oath Keepers targeted the Black Lives Matter Movement and announced solidarity with law enforcement officers, especially those who mak up its ranks, the most extreme response came from the racist right –– from neo-Confederates to National Socialists.

“As freemen and citizens, we in The League will arm ourselves, defend public order and property, and stand beside our brothers and sisters in the peace keeping profession,” said Michael Hill, president of the neo-Confederate and increasingly anti-Semitic League of the South.

Hill was not alone in reading the circumstances behind the shooting in Dallas as the opening volley in a race war.

On Stormfront, the largest white supremacist website, one user wrote: “Well, if they keep this **** up then, yeah, there will be a war.” Another anonymous Stormfront poster using the name: “Kriegsberichter-NZ,” was more blunt. “Race war is here,” he said.

The domestic terrorist attack in Dallas, which left seven officers injured in addition to the fallen, happened during a scheduled peaceful protest to bring attention to instances of police violence that left two black men dead –– first in Baton Rouge, La., and then in St. Paul, Minn. But the reaction from white extremists also comes in the aftermath of dozens of other domestic terrorist attacks in recent years where the offenders were white, and the targets were historically maligned populations of the American cultural landscape.

The racist right is fascinated –– even enamored at times –– with a coming race war, the perennial subject of racist books like The Turner Diaries, which inspired Oklahoma City Bomber Timothy McVeigh.

“The center cannot and will not hold,” wrote Matt Parrott, co-founder of the Traditionalist Youth Network and the Traditionalist Worker Party, groups that were at the center of a bloody melee that erupted during a protest in Sacramento that left several people stabbed and wounded.

“Probably not tomorrow, most likely not in the coming year, but soon, sooner than we’re ready (not that one can ever truly be ready), race war is coming to America,” Parrott wrote.

Surprisingly, the calls for war were not limited to the radical right. Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh said on Twitter, “This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you.”

Did they have a quote from someone who is not part of the radical right? That joe walsh isn't an ordinary average guy.

That was the point of the article and pretty much the point of the SPLC: they monitor extremists, not normal people.

The article tells you its focus with the first three words: "White racist extremists".

Pretty disturbing that the U.S. executed a citizen without trial. While they have been doing this to suspected drug dealers outside the U.S. for almost a decade, this marks the first time they have used a drone to skirt going to trial.

A Drone Was Used to Blow up a US Citizen Without Trial Yesterday

It's not disturbing, it's bloody amazing. I love it. This guy wasn't sipping a beer on his couch when he was drone-striked, he was taking shots at citizens and police. If there is an active shooter in my neighbourhood, I want the police to relieve him of brain function as fast as possible. Even better, they did it without endangering any police lives. Give the robot a medal posthumously.

I guess I dunno why they couldn't have outfitted the robot with a knock out gas?

Unsure it HAS to be lethal, you could even have a series of robots with different non lethal approaches if one fails.

Accurately dosing a man of unknown size, in a room of unknow dimensions and unknown ventilation would be tricky, at least as I understand it. The shooter had also indicated he had bombs (although this turned out to be false after a search). If he is inadequately dosed, he now has an opportunity to detonate. He could also be overdosed and die anyway.

Also, he is engaged in killing people. It's part of the rules of that game that you might die. Society doesn't owe him any kid gloves. If negotiations fail, apply maximum violence as quickly as possible.

If he was engaged in non-lethal attacks on society (pepper spraying people or kicking them) then police lethal force isn't necessary either.

Still I imagine there are non lethal ways to solve this puzzle - I can't accept that lethal force was the only solution.

Accepting more risk might be part of the trade off, and layers of non lethal techniques for redundancy

More than two-fifths of black people say the police in their communities make them feel more anxious than safe. By wide margins, whites and Hispanics say the police make them feel safer.

Looks like the extremist sovereign citizen/Freemen-On-The-Land ideology at play:

Gunman Who Killed Three Police Officers in Baton Rouge Member of Black Antigovernment 'Sovereign Citizen' Group

"Members of ‘Moorish’ sovereign groups and other black Americans have for years been taking up the ideas of the antigovernment “sovereign citizen” movement –– a movement whose adherents believe they are outside the reach of most law. Ironically, the wildly conspiratorial belief system was originally thoroughly anti-black. But its racist roots have been virtually forgotten by increasing numbers of black Americans who have melded it with selective interpretations of the teachings of pioneer black nationalist Noble Drew Ali, who founded the exclusively black Moorish Science Temple of America (MSTA) almost 100 years ago.

But The Washitaw Nation, of which Long was once a member, is something different. It employs pseudo-legal language and theories of “common law” –– an ideology birthed by hard-line American white supremacists in the 1970s and 1980s. But the Washitaw are not white supremacists.

In the weird language the groups leader, a woman named Verdiacee Turner –– who called herself Empress Verdiacee “Tiari” Washitaw-Turner Goston El-Bey –– decendants of the “Ancient Ones,” the “black ones," occupied the North American continent tens of thousands of years before white Europeans arrived. Therefore, they fall outside federal authority. "
Weird racist snake-eating-its-own-tail thing - the language and ideology of white racists used by anti-white black racists...

Freemen are the bane of my existence. They make such duplicit arguments, " I don't recognize your laws or court system", "oh you've infringed my rights so I will proceed with a civil claim". I love listening to these guys talk in person. I attended a pre-trial once in which one of them kept repeating before agreeing to answer any questions "is this a court of record", the judge, myself and counsel had no clue what he was going on about considering most courts are a court of record.

Ya they come up with their own definitions and then forget the part where definitions are tested in court and THEN validated.

So sorry, your crazy idea about the constitution exempting you from needing a driver's license, or to pay an income tax - is not correct because you can *identify an interpretation* that supports your case.

It only becomes "correct" when a judge agrees with you - and even then that could be tested again by a higher court!
