Re: military precision. I'm sure enough normal people who frequently practice with hi-grade weaponry (in Texas of all places), and with a goal to achieve, could pull this off. There could very well be more than one. That would be believable.

My mum was a soldier. She didn't come from any background with weapon usage, yet was apparently better than most of the men in her regiment. Some people pick it up quickly. You don't necessarily need to be military trained to understand how to use a firearm or figure out a plan of action.

Did I mention COD? I said that learning how to use a rifle (in Texas of all places) doesn't have a huge learning curve, and therefore presented an example (my mother).

In Northern Ireland, people set up ambushes all the time. They weren't exactly the most highly trained cats (notably the Protestants).

I'm not completely dismissing the potential for some conspiracy, but reluctant to make it the automatic go-to.

Learning how to use a rifle and coming up with a co-ordinated plan are not even remotely close. Putting bombs in garbage cans or tossing molotav cocktails at unsuspecting ppl are not the same as setting up a sniper ambush during a protest. One with cops all over the place.

oh come on. How hard could it be to set up an ambush. Find out where the protest is. Find a vantage point. Go there. Shoot. The hardest part far and away would be actually hitting your targets. these days I wouldn't be surprised if google has an app that marks out the best spots for you.

This isn't assasinating a president or blowing up the olympics here, this is taking pot shots at a few people with the absolute minimum of security. Basically there was cops there to make sure nobody got in a fight or hit with a car. I bet that was the extent of the security and why would it be any more than that?

You think Northern Ireland was primarily about bombs in garbage cans and Molotov cocktails? Molotov cocktails were used during riots.

Both sides coordinated attacks using firearms on specified targets, and pulled many of them off. It was usually an inside tip (undercover Intel) or a blundered operation (not all members being the most adept soldier) that caused them to fail.

Yep - this is the problem News-As-it-Happens.

Eyewitness accounts are notoriously innaccurate, assumptions are made in reporting when there's a the 24 hour pressure of cable news and few facts are confirmed.

I don't have a problem with being skeptical about reports on a Major Tragedy in the first 24 hours - Conspiracy Theorists especially should be but things change later on, when they take advantage of the natural inconsistencies that happen in live reporting after ANY event and then claim these are proof of people going "off script" in the media (see Ken Silverstein's notorious "pull it" claim or the claim that the media called the falling of WTC 7 *before* it happened from 9/11 Lore).

So tobywan's skepticism on these early reports is well-founded - I hope he continues to maintain this skepticism when faced with the urge to cherry pick these early reports to support a claim of False Flag.

It will take a few more days and weeks before facts "settle" and we can get a clearer picture. Confusion in the first 24 hours and conflicting reports is par for the course.
