I recently signed up a large BBQ site based in Texas to my ad network FORUMCAST. Smoked Meat is a great source for lots of recipes, techniques, and BBQ gear making tips.

Smoking Meat

I have already started this year's BBQ season here in South Africa, grilling all manner of "vors" (sausages) bush pig, kudu, blesbok, ostrich, and last night chili pineapple boerevors which was amazing.

yeah, same here. We BBQ year round.

Last week there were sausages, pork chops, burgers, a 4 pound salmon filet on cedar, and yesterday I did an 11 and a half pound bone in ham for our daughters 1st birthday brunch (bourbon glaze with brown sugar and dijon).

I just take Mondays off for BBQing but I'm also a year round BBQer lol.:D

Going to try some creative stuff this coming year to play around with the menu. Next two items up are Jalapeno Stuffer warped in bacon. I'm also going to do a fatty for the smokehouse this year as well.

Still too early here, a good chunk of my backyard is underwater to boot!

I am going to braise some short ribs tomorrow, which is nearly as good as BBQ and easier to pull off!

Looks good... From the look of the tortilla it looks flour based too kick it up a notch the corn tortillas for La Tortilleria in Kensington are awesome... You would probably have to double the tortilla's so the stay together...

I'm always interesting in hearing options for great things to smoke other than the classic brisket and ribs (pork or beef).

If I was going to do pulled beef, what cut would I buy?

Has anyone tried pork necks? There a European place near me that sells them and I wondered if they might be good on the smoker.

WE are going to be introducing a smoked veggie and meat kabob, which is really easy to do on the smoker.

I don't know if the sales are the same everywhere, but Nofrills around here is selling charcoal for 1/2 price this week! Got a stack as tall as me in my garage now. That's 3 years running I've been able to stock up on cheap fuel. I think I've bought 2 bags full price in that time! :)
