The switch to the new software has overloaded the existing server. To keep the existing server running at all, many of the features of the new board software had to be turned off - especially at peak times.
I bought a new server (the new girlfriend) and we are in the process of configuring it before I send it to our service provider to be plugged into their rack.
Once that has happened and we have tested it, we will move the board onto it from its existing location on the 'old server'.
The new server has enough power to handle our current loads and then some so many of the features of the board software will be turned on permentantly (like searching).
Other features will be disabled because they are just too 'flaming and spinning' for my liking.
The goal of the board interface is to make it as bland as possible so as to fit in inconspiculously in an office environment (so members can be on the board all day at work without getting hassled).
Our strength is in the membership, not in the interface. The real impact of TRIBE has always been in the amazing membership. Our members are what makes the board interesting, not glitzy features.
