wow, it's mondya afternoon and no review of an excellant party yet.

shame on you tribe, shame.

got to the beach around 11:30, found the right spot, familiarized myself with the crowd, said hi to tommy, anna, @m, stacey, and kf.

after checking things out and meetingup with some people, we grabbed a chunk of beach and sat down and chilled. few things are quite as satisfying and relaxing as watching the moon come out on a warm enough summer night while listening to sweet, sweet, tunage.

learned that it is hard to dance in sand, but the secret is to kick away the upper layer so that you get a little space of packed earth where one can dance without difficulty.

excellent party all told. the dukes seemed unhappy about their set but i was having such a good time at the party that i didn't really notice the "technical errors" that they were pissed at themselves about.

this party had an awesome vibe. everyone was chilled out and happy, doing their own thing while being pretty friendly and respectful of others. one of the best parties i've been to.

thanks rosey. it was great to see so many people having such a good time. It was fun to drop that 'Blues Brothers' track as well!

It was 30hrs of up time when i finally hit the sack, but it was incredible fun - the moon was great, the weather was great, we got about 200 souls on the beach and no police visits. The only unfortunate thing was that my partner and the AcmeLabz photographer/graphic designer had his bag stolen right from in between the tables for the dj's and live pa's. He lost his $300 jacket, wallet with credit cards, keys, camera and flash with all of our pictures from the evening. Whoever did it has balls and definately put a negative twist on an otherwise positive evening for those of us who spent our time and hard earned money into throwing a free event for others on the beach.

All the dj's played excellent sets, as did the live pa's (it's too bad the one pa was such a drain on the generator that it had to be cut short). Much thanks and respect to those of you who cam out in good spirits - we could have done it without you.

I didnt really feel qualified to post a review... since all I did was sit on the beach and smoke strawberry sheesha

the night was entirely too surreal... moon, waves, torches, fires... no cops... starting to wonder if it was just a dream

it's actually my friend Natalie's... but she is coming to WEMF so I'm sure it will be coming too

we thought more people would have stopped to "mooch a bowl"... but instead we had a few people asking us for pot &lt;shrug&gt; we were somewhat 'sedate' so I can see the confusion lol

but dont be shy to ask next time! If we didnt want to share we wouldnt have made it so freakin obvious!

I was surprised to see all the equipment these guys had down there... sand + computer = itchy bits no? duh - ok dont kill me for the cheeze

re "thugs"... it was all totally chill till a whole gang of such (like 20) showed up at like 5 am and sat in a tight line facing our direction... was a tad uncomfortable. But no trouble.

I would like to point out one last thing... NO DEAD BODIES... just a couple dead seagulls

I had such a great time at this party. @m, rosey introduced me to you right before I left, sorry I didn't stick around and chat, but thanks again... so much fun. The person who said this party was chillaxin was right. Never before would I have said it was a good thing to fall asleep at a party, but lying on the beach with some of the most hypnotyzing music in the world just gave me the best dreams. Hope all of the negitivity isn't a turn off from you guys throwing another party.

I came. My brother drank too much and puked. I went home.

I saw 5 people I havn't seen in over a year. That was the highlight of the night. I cried.

The jib heads scared me, And I was stoned so it ruined my damn buzz.

no worries, there will be more. we'll just be more carefull next time. The next ordeal is being geared for middle to late August.

The thug factor wasn't cool - i heard that someone was even selling GHB there! What the HELL is that? GHB on a beach? FREAK!

It's hard to say whether the thug factor came about because of advertising on tribe and the few flyers that were put out, or just the bad seed wandering the waterfront in search of a party to drink at. We ARE however, thinking about leaning more heavily on the email route to keep these unique location events more word of mouth and for the underground community. We're not attempting to be an exclusive clique (obviously we want to allow your everday person from having a chance to explore something different), but we would like to lower the risk/thug factor so that people always feel comfortable. What do you folks think?

it's true, is was staggering through the sand and all of the sudden this guy was in my face saying "hey, whassup?!?" took me four or five seconds to realize it was my bro(LOL), surprised the hell out of me too.

Hey @m, I didn't realize that you threw these events.

I think the email idea is good - Almost all the people there were cool; Chillin' and whatnot. But when these two big cracked out thugs started doing lines off of MY huge cooler, I was not impressed. I asked "What are you guys doing?" They replied "Oh, coke, you want some?" I was noooootttt happy. I was content with my joint and a beer.

I REALLY liked how you guys had it ON the beach, instead of the forested area...It was beautiful (especially with the full moon and the light over the water)

I'd definately go to another party of yours.

we threw the first Terrferma last year in the exact same location - no problems then either (i'm pretty sure it has to do with acoustics - we made sure by scoping out the place first that because sound travels so well over the water, we wouldn't be getting noise complaints from center island or any or the people that live on their boats in the marina next door). I love playing there... what could be better than sand, the moon, stars, warm air and torchlight? I was the one in the jean jacket who dropped the Blues Brothers track and did the announcing. We (The Dukes) played the jackin' tech-funk w/electro stuff (we like to tell people that we play the "rock 'n roll" of techno as even we're not sure what to call it yet). I hope that was the funky techno you were referring to!

i can't believe that people were doing coke off your cooler! Shows how observant I was - to think that my dad was there too giving me a hand and hanging out. I'm surprised he didn't see anything. What a smorgasbord of personalities!

You should have introduced yourself, stacey - I always like to meet fellow TBKers!

My roomate and I had an amazing time... it's so hard to find a good party these days where friends old and new can gather with no worries! You guys did an amazing job

No matter what if the thugs want to find a party they are going to find it! You're e-mail list is definitely a good start to keeping the info from them.

Hey Lesslyn... good to meet ya... I was the guy who recognized you're pic from the groove board!

@m... the Blus Brothers track was pricelss!Thanx for the tarp... now I have something to keep the rain off my HOG!
