I just got BennyBenassi@RadioFG-Paris(Feb06,2004)....pounding! Real thick, chunky basslines. Is this the same guy that did "satisfaction"? Sounds just like his sound.

I'm also downloading Digweeds Essential mix and will be grabbing Luke Fair Live @ Tonic soon.

i hear that...his PHATPLASTIC set is seriously poor quality...the set is so good tho that i just turn the knob to the maximum to get some value.

the Argentina set is pretty hype tho...based on his performance there and not live.

yeah, the phatplastic set was great , but someone just encoded it to mp3 from the realaudio file that originally streamed off phatplastic, which is why it sounded so crappy. I too wish he'd put out his stuff in higher bit rate.

i had a pile of cds on rotation tonight...

One came on and for a good 50-60 minutes i was floored by it. I couldn't tell what it was nor could i remember what cds i had rotating.

then D:Facto-Elixir rolled in and it hit me: Jon Lisle.

This guy is the best dj out there...the vibe he creates on PART 1 of the Argentina set has got to be heard.

This set also proves that he can rock it live (even tho it's not live) :)


oh yeah:

one more set on the go: Jacob Todd-Proton Jan 2004 Loose Beats.

highly recommended. I love seeing alot of up and comers play stuff that isn't getting much airplay...they're all blowing out the big hitter djs.

lisle probably encodes the sets at a not-so-hot bitrate on purpose..

he plays a lot of upfront stuff...lots of people that make records dont want good quality rips of their shit getting out on the net, even if its off a cd..
