I find it incredibly disturbing that the dummy rafts are flying off the track and crashing to the ground. Wouldn't they have engineers to calculate safe trajectories? Who would be insane enough to operate this even after the "adjustments"?
They were testing how the slide would handle if it was ridden over the weight limit. That was a 1000 pounds on there. Like someone said in the comments, that's 4 or 5 normal people or 2 Americans to put it at that weight.

I just noticed there is a mesh screen around the slide to stop you from flying out, and also you are strapped into the tube. The wankerdom of this ride is so great now that I probably wouldn't bother going out of my way even if it were here in Toronto.
