i worked on a farm a few weeks ago.

We weeded a spinach patch and then got to eat some of the good weeds like lamb's quarters, in our salad.

I'm going to volunteer some more later in the harvest. Local food. Local food.

Last weekend, we went to the cemetery to check on the situation....
My mom's mom had passed away the week before.

I have tons of of photos from the hospital, the funeral and the aftermath with all the family drama.
Too bad as I think film would've been nicer but film cameras make a lot of noise.
Even though it was my mom's mom (she's a really strong person), my dad took this really hard. He was very close to her. You can almost see the pain in his face.

Some pictures of the Saskatoon "Sound Wall"

Quick backstory:

A graffiti-plastered wall on Warman Road has drawn double-takes from motorists and legal questions about tagging done with the property owner's consent.

The eight-foot-high concrete wall, which stretches 175 feet along Warman Road, was painted June 8-9. Most of the images are graffiti tags - the artists' signatures. There's also a caterpillar and a tree.

Basically he lives right next to a freeway, he petitioned the city to build a sound barrier as they did up the road about 4 blocks.

City denied his request (not sure why myself) so he built a massive (and totally legal) wall himself.

He then had some local artists do some tags and he plans on updating it every now and then.

Pretty cool.
