is what i need. i haven't worked in soooo long...it's stoopid. i've noticed previous threads where tribe-rs have helped out others in their search to join the rat race.

i need help. i've always been involved with social services...working with people. but willing to look elsewhere, in a new field. i just need to work. yuck.

i've searched google for job searches...but it's not going to well and thought i would make an appeal to the masses for assistance for links and such. it requires too much effort to look into the vaults of tribe...well that and i would probably get completed distracted.

mcdonalds is not an option....nor or ANY fast food joints, convience stores, or gas stations. well...they're are not options yet....

What type of social service work did you do? Do you have any qualifications? What type of skills do you have? Believe me, I understand how hard it is to find a job right now but remember you have to keep your chin up ... and sometimes in the meantime do something that you are not so keen on doing!

Have you checked out temping agencies? Kelly Services is great they do all sorts of temping work.

yes working at mcdonalds is a job...but a shit job i really don't want. no offense to mcdonalds workers across the globe...but this job is not for me...and i would probably go postal. or put even more disgusting things in their food that the general public would not appreciate.


and swenard...i am not a man. but perhaps i could become a man-whore's pimp...whatta ya say...wanna work for me? ;)

kay...u mcdonalds advocate....a job at mcdonalds would be absolute last resort accompanied with a job at wendy's, pizza pizza, etc. mini-family to support and therefore..mcdonald's not really an option. haha...tho the pimp position isn't that great either. :p

about jobs, i used AltisHR to find a job, its an employment agency.
they have an office downtown as well as a new office opening up in mississauga.
i spoke to one of their recruiters the other day and she says that if you are looking for work in that end of town, or even if you are looking for work as a recruiter, that they are looking for applications.

some other agencies are Pinstripe and Manpower, Addecco...

Human resources ontario also has a good job site. Not sure what the link is of hand but Im sure you can find it without too much trouble. Hope that helps!

S'all about the call centre jobs...whenever I'm desperate, I never have trouble finding work in a call centre. They just wanna put butts in seats, and will usually pay $10-$13 an hour. Not great, but not bad.

I tried to fax my resume to that number, but a lady picked up instead.

I kinda liked the sound of her voice though, so i stayed on for a few minutes.

Only cost me 60 bucks, what a deal!!!

easy, I dont even know you. most people who are looking for a career dont usually have McDonalds as there first choice

But now we know who lives in their moms basement and works at McDonalds :eek:
