no, this isn't a countdown to my two jiggilionth post, it's about the television show 24

this is one of the few shows that I actually look forward to watching every week. it is very unique in its presentation and it must really have something to do with the real time timeframe that keeps you wanting more.

the five or so focus points keep the show moving along smoothly without many dull moments. i hope there will be another show similar to this after it is done - not a copycat but one done by the same writers/directors/producers.

so far no other network has been able to come out with something like it, which is surprising since the cloning of popular shows is unreal and pathetic.

does anyone know when the time is up - i.e. how many shows are left? it seems like there may be one or two others.

this show kicks ass.
i'm soooo sucked in.
basically the premise is that the entire season takes place over a 24-hr. period, so each episode shows one hour of the story...
kiefer sutherland plays some gov't agent who is assigned to protect a presidential candidate (who's involved in his own scandal) but gets caught up in this whole mess when people kidnap his wife and daughter and try to assassinate the candidate.

pretty sweet; they do some time-code-esque stuff with split screens and the whole "real time" aspect is pretty neat.

hard to describe - there are a lot of things going on - here's the official site:
http://www.fox.com/24/

fox, 9pm

hmmmm - after reviewing the site it will be even more difficult to describe afterwards. it's basically about keifer who is a agent of sorts and a father. he is to protect the presidentila candidate. his daughter gets kidnapped by someone trying to kill the presidential candidate (PC) and he has to choose throughout how to do both jobs of protecting the PC and trying to ensure his daughter gets free safely.

the PC also has problems involving his son how was somewhat involved in a murder a few years back and this may pop up to hurt the PC.

the wife of kiefer gets involved after trying to find her daughter.

the members of kiefers agent team are all involved in some way as well.

it's fairly complex yet simple to follow.

very good.

I'm definitely a fan of this show. Each week seems to kick up the intensity level even further. I'm not sure if they can continue this action for a full 24 episodes, but so far it's looking like it.

I've been trying to find some rumours as to how they'll modify this plot for another season. (although I don't think it's been picked up for next fall yet) If it's a success, I don't imagine they'll consider it a one-off season?!?!?

I saw this show once or twice and really liked it but missed it a few weeks in a row and now I can't watch it because I've missed too much.

Really cool premise, and quite well executed.

I heard somewhere that there's quite a bit of Canadian influence on this show... does anyone know more about that?

i've missed a few too, but the beginning fills you in somewhat. and considering that it takes place in just one day there isn't that much that can happen (although a lot does). it's kinda like a soap, you can miss it for a year, come back and everyone will still be screwing everyone and the others are still being abducted by aliens or molemen.

I think about half of the cast is Canadian. *wonders if it's filmed in Vancouver?*
