in my wanderings i ended up in saigon a few days ago and i am seriously considering staying here.
spoke with a few expats already but if there are any tribers in saigon who have gone through the initial headaches of settling in vietnam, i'd love to buy them a few beers and pick their brain...
thank you - i will walk by this weekend. there are always "for rent" signs in the neighbourhood so one needs to do some legwork to hopefully find a gem:)
too funny, that is exactly the building i am considering. talked to the property manager and i will have an appointment sometime next week to take a look.
were you happy with everything there?
i hung out at the same place for 10 years, wanted to save money, got some roommates and after 7 months, i am DYING to be on my own again...
craigslist is really-really busy these days - keep checking there!
i don't know what it is about deko-ze, but when i saw him on the leather ball float, i was mesmerized and i continued to be in a daze watching him at the church/wellesley stage in the evening.
which is *not* to downplay any of the rest of the weekend. still in a state of bliss.:)

to those not sharing knowledge of our exquisite language: excuse me while i am putting mr. magyar in his place:rolleyes:
*mmmmmmmmmmmphhhhhhhhhhh*
and to think that i hate peanut butter. this is THE awesomest tooth-decaying mainstream stuff.
eat it when it's kinda melting.

while i will not judge any of the preceding opinions, i would like to add my favourites of my hometown, perhaps you will find them just as wonderful.
1) don't miss the museum of fine arts (szepmuveszeti muzeum). they have a breathtaking collection of old masters paintings...
