    For the Cyclists in Tribeland.

ya, that section is always slow to melt as its largely protected from direct sun. But further up north, beyond the park, it should be relatively clear? I'm going take my chances. I just want to get out and enjoy the sun and the fresh air!

    For the Cyclists in Tribeland.

I'm going to check it out this afternoon. First ride of the season, so I won't be setting any speed records. If I have to de-bike and walk over the snowy patches, no biggie. I'll look for ya!

COLD DEAD HANDS!!!! RIP Charlton Heston

Awesome description. haha.. WOW. I would have LOVED to see him play a lead role in a Shakespeare production - like Hamlet or Richard III. RIP

Is the humber river bike path clear?

Well, I'm going to hit the Humber River trail this weekend. The weather is looking great 13-14C and sunny both days! I'll look for Tribers. I think there will still be snowy patches here and there, but nothing that can't be overcome. Alex, you know this trail continues north of the 401...

huge stock market slide, just the beginning ?

Scary. Wasn't there an infamous chess match a few years ago - man vs. deep blue? ;)

huge stock market slide, just the beginning ?

I'd say the majority of investors are totally clueless and wouldn't even know where to start assessing the risk on any investment, let alone one of these "newfangled" ABCP ones. It IS sad. I'm constantly surprised at the number of people who don't even know what an RRSP is, despite the fact...

aha! and there it is. Proof. It *is* a conspiracy.

At what point do minorities stop being considered minorities

I can hardly wait until the VMs start buying cottages in Muskoka.

huge stock market slide, just the beginning ?

Oh I agree, the market could take a downturn on more negative news, as always. And I think there's still a number of "other shoes" to drop. The odd thing about the R-word is that you don't get confirmation that an R is happening until after the fact, when the actual GDP numbers come out. I...

huge stock market slide, just the beginning ?

Oil and gas may be undervalued, according to Jeff Rubin. But I don't see too many specific picks in his article though. He's also pretty bullish on Canada in general. Filling up on energy stocks may offset pinch at the pumps: CIBC World Markets 08:00 EDT Wednesday, April 02, 2008...

huge stock market slide, just the beginning ?

I believe the market has already priced in the R-word, months ago. It's the state of the consumer and consumer spending that seems to remain an unknown, a very important one.

huge stock market slide, just the beginning ?

There's been a nice little uptick going on in the Canadian market right now - over the past several weeks actually. Trouble is, it could be the dreaded "dead cat bounce" which means the market is heading back down again, and will linger at lower levels for awhile before we see any sustained...

Hedge Fund Manager Faces Cocaine Charge After Comfort Zone Raid

entrapment Interesting.. according to wiki, it may be that Matthew McIsaac's allegations do not constitute entrapment.

What is your average hydro bill?

^ If I was your landlord, I'd up the rent to make sure I'm over-collecting on the utilities, then I'd take my sweet time refunding the difference. :p It would also incent the tenants to conserve energy, meaning I'd be doing more for the environment while holding your money.

What is your average hydro bill?

Rob, your bill does seem high, even for a house. You could have an audit done to see if there's an unusual load from somewhere. And as you probably already know, anything that generates heat uses juice. Stuff that's on all the time can end up costing. There's also a whole issue around...

    Earth Hour

I wonder at the futility of turning off a few lightbulbs when China continues to spew out GHGs at an exponential rate, all the while apparently not giving a calcified shit about the rest of the planet.

What is your average hydro bill?

lol. the "hot tub factor". there's irony in there somewhere, not sure where, exactly. ;)

What is your average hydro bill?

^^wow. Do you have electric heat Brad? dryer, range? 1,000 kwh seems high for an apartment. Me, I'm about 160 kwh/month. Except for that hot, hot summer of 2005 when I burned 619 kwh over two months on a LOT of A/C. I've done months as low as 135 kwh and I'm proud of that (not bragging...
