    The Mom Thread

Congratulations! How is is going? I read No Cry Sleep Solution too, it was good. Dr. Sears. I also read and followed the "Babywise", "Toddlerwise", "Preschoolerwise" books too - I really liked this series the best because they worked well for me. I did CIO with one baby (black out blinds...

How often do you need to sharpen lawnmower blades?

We have a blade sharpening truck that drives around too. Kinda like the ice cream truck. You bring your blades and knives to the truck, not sure of cost. There might be shops around which could sharpen them for you.

Teacher denied unpaid leave to accompany Father to Holland

^ I don't think trustees aren't the board decision makers. I think this is a Board beauracrat (job for life not voted in) thing. To me, it looks like the board is prepping/hunkering down for the next round of contract/strike talks. if so, it's a brutal strategy. Nemesis, curious your thoughts...

Teacher denied unpaid leave to accompany Father to Holland

I got that feeling too when they disclosed that he in fact has had other unpaid leaves due to being the orimary support role for his father. Totally inappropriate on the board's behalf. I wonder if this could be some kind of accessibilty issue/ barrier for the father? kind of far fetched, but...

Teacher denied unpaid leave to accompany Father to Holland

exactly! face time era: modern family filmed an entire episode using facetime via iphones and ipads.... chances are, a history teacher can utilize this technology too.

Teacher denied unpaid leave to accompany Father to Holland

BS. This isn't really about the students (that's a safe cop out). The supply teacher would be cheaper then the teacher's wages. Dayplanners are a teacher's BFF - the class curriculum and timeline are already planned. unfortunate timing: give your head a shake and revisit what storming the...

How long have your boots lasted?

Very smart. Who's your guy? Any recommendations? I love boots. Nice picture Snuffy. Roots and Earthkeepers last a long time. Tretorn rain boots and the insulated Sorel type Tretorn boot both lasted about 5-7 years - not bad for cheap rain boots but not able to handle the artic vortex...

Very sorry for your loss. Watch out for perinatal Postpardum depression. It can creep up on you iut of the blue. People don't talk about it much, but it's more common then you think. Our hospital had great resources and group support. Take care of each other.

    The Mom Thread

So, there is hope! OC is the picky eater now. She was a model eater and now it's "eeeew, yuck!" or " I don't like...." (when she will eat the no likes another day). I'm copying the "I provide and she decides" mantra. I don't make a second meal but I will give her cereal and/or fruit before...

Get her some ginseng to chew (helps alleviate nausea), probably pill tablets around too. I loved ginseng tea (raw ginseng in hot water). Discomfort: could be her uterus growing, things start moving around early. Also, it kind of never goes away (until you have the baby), hee. One discomfort is...
