So what's so good about Leslieville?

Hitch good new bar owned by mercury owner. Gio's block. Re Avro, hearing that owners putting their own bar in the space.

The jerk chicken at the hummingbird kicks ass. Better then real jerk. The apps we had were really authentic - some sort of scrambled egg and kingfish thing? They seem to do three separate fish dishes that they cook from scratch - takes 15 mins plus to get them when you order and they warn you.

I had a donut at Paulette's and it was awesome. The burger and fries at riverside is very good.

tomi kro is gone...saw the letter in the window as well...say what you will, but it definately added some vibe to the area... went into sausage partners yesterday - some very nice looking steaks in there - well aged, about $16/lbs for strips which is not bad for premium meat.

Gibsons for steak - old school place, great location. Chicago is all about wet aged meat - gibson's is basically the institution for it. Chicago Steakhouse | Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse

Hammersmith's in Leslieville: tiny portions, inflexible, pretentious, expensive

second jims. only issue is no free refills on cofee which any diner should do. typically i'll order a coffee from mercury and get a western to go from jims.
