Thanks! We're pretty excited. We were aiming for a 2.5 year gap to split the difference, but it took us a few extra months to conceive this time. They will be just under 3 years apart (I'm due in November and my son will be 3 in January).

The half year thing seems to be true for my son, who is now nearing 2.5. We struggle a lot with getting him dressed in the morning, for example. A little while ago after reading one of mcbees posts I decided just to take him to daycare in the cold with no sweater or coat on after an epic...

Yeah, I never really felt that pushing a baby out was an event I wanted to invite anyone extra to. My mom and sister came and visited me in early labor and I even found THAT annoying, even though I love them both to bits. In fact, my sister was so excited she kept bugging me throughout the...

bettEC, I had a similarly miserable early pregnancy. I think I continued to barf/feel nauseated until around 20 weeks, although it was pretty mild after around 16 weeks or so. I didn't gain a single pound until I reached 20 weeks (but I packed on a solid 36 lbs in the remaining 20 weeks!). The...

Rainboots are the best. I found a teeny tiny pair for my son and he goes nuts stomping around and running through puddles.

Yes, he is a big fan of dairy too. He drinks milk, and eats cheese and yogurt. He really likes beans too, so I'm trying to offer beans more frequently. Maybe I shouldn't worry about his protein intake, but I sometimes wonder if he eats so much because his diet is somehow unbalanced!

Yeah my son isn't a big guy (50th percentile for weight, 70th for height), so I'm not worried about how much he is eating. I do worry sometimes that he may not be getting enough protein. He loves fresh fruit and veggies, and will wolf down a huge bowl full of veggies before turning to my other...

On the topic of food: My son eats so much it is ridiculous. I feel like I can never keep him full! It started around 11.5 months, and at first I thought it was a growth spurt, but it never stopped. He eats like a horse, it's crazy.

Well, my son was up a ton last night and wouldn't settle unless I sat up and let him snuggle on my chest. At least it is kind of nice to feel needed sometimes, haha. Echo - congrats on the big decision to stay home. Lilah is a lucky gal! :)

11.5!!! He went to bed at 7:30pm and we woke him up at 7am.

To be honest, I don't think he knows that mama is me. I think it was more of a coincidence, heh, but it felt really good anyways!

My son slept through the night last night. The whole night. In his own bed, even. All by himself. Jay and I laid in bed awake most of the night wondering what was going on and discussing whether we should check on him, haha. We even had to actually go into his room in the morning and wake...

Cute! My kid is just starting to pick up a few words here and there. My favorite is "uh oh!" It is so cute it kills me every time he says it. I love love love this stage.
