Creative made them with their early DVD Rom drives.. Video cards at the time couldn't handle the output and would choke..

You can't buy them individually though..
I have an old one in my drawer I think as I have a good DVD-ROm now..

Sorry, you can buy them individually and for extra cash you can even get a remote control for it.

Mine is a hollywood magic model with digital/svideo/composite outs. Although they do take teh whole load off the cpu when dvd decoding, that's not thier only use. Mine outputs a nice cleas signal to my tv of amazing quality even when outputted through a composite cable.

The good thing about it is that playing a DVD on your computer is only limited by your software, where as most hardware DVD players aren't compatible with certain formats and encoding techniques.. and your stuck with that. So if you have software that is compatible with many formats you're flying.

My DVD card even outputs avi's & mpegs to tv with excellent quality.

the mx400 is a geforce 2

it's the best of the geforce2 mx series

it's based on the geforce2 gts chipset

basically, they just run the ram and gpu at a lower clockspeed

if you buy a fan for it you can o/c it from here to kingdom come

you could easily get geforce 2 ti speeds

i bought mine for $130 on sale, potentially minus $40 from a mail in rebate i have yet to recieve

future shop sells my video card for $150

visiontek xtasy 5564 geforce 2 mx 400 64meg

www.nvidia.com has all the info you need

gf2mx400 is a good buy for current pc users

for future users ... i'd say wait until the gf4 is obsolete, and buy a gf3

staying two generations behind generally keeps you up-to-date

pretty funny
