nothing in particular, atleast in so far as the board goes. it's not like the world stops being stupid temporarily, just that you're distracted from it. but you know how every now and then someone says something or does something so infinitely retarded that it makes you just shake your head and wonder how they remember to breathe and then scares you that they're able to procreate

"Advertising is like learning -- a little is a dangerous thing"--P.T. Barnum

this site http://www.syntac.net/hoax/barnum.php says that Barnum didn't say 'there's a sucker born every minute'.

I hear ya. And can't offer much comfort for you.

At least aunt jemima still drives her busted ass VW around, lugging her wide load.

(it was Aunt Jemima in the car, wasn't it?)

hmn. as i said, i'm stupid.

i'd also like to add that oscar wilde with his famous "i can resist everything, except temptation" (or "the only way to rid temptation is to yield to it", depending on the source,) was actually prefaced by balzac.

"what kind of temptations? temptations can be got rid of"
"how?"
"by yielding to them"~balzac, 1813

i may be stupid but thank god i'm literate. (my favourite barnum hoax was the fiji mermaid. brilliant!)

*muah*

You may not be stupid Nat--don't believe everything you read ont he internet! that the attribution of that quote to PT Barnum may be a hoax may be in itself a hoax! More investigation is necessary... however, I'm lazy and it's quitting time.
