the third hour of a three hour set. fantastic tape! i remember when i bought it, i walked into the store (upstairs @ queen/john, southwest corner) and there was just tons of tapes on the wall. the dj names meant almost nothing to me. i asked for some recommendations from the guy behind the counter, but i didn't know exactly what 'style' of music i was looking for either.

i think i ended up picking it up because he was playing it in the store. anyway, it's a solid mix.
That sounds exactly like my story - I knew that it was graffiti alley, and I went there every time I was in Toronto, but it was because another store in there sold hard to get bootlegs of concerts. I think it's even the same Carl Cox tape! It was like 2 years before I even started partying.

After I started partying the first tape I bought was Freaky Flow Vol.7.

First tape for me would be Mike Dearborn live from destiny 11, 1995. It was an acid house tape, not bad.

my first electronic tape?

probably one of the first dancemixes from muchmusic

apart from that

i used to make my own tapes of mods off my 486 computer

house, trance, techno, ambient, jungle, electronic, classical, pop, rock, industrial, gabber, hardcore, happy hardcore, dance, etc

it was all just "music"

we didn't really care much to classify it at the time

My first electronic mix was DJ Hardware: The mind controller. Fuckin solid compelation, the programming is excellent. Its a CD though (TAPES SUCK!)

my first tape was S.O.S Live @ E-NUF! the final event.

another memorable tape: John '00' Flemming live @ chocolate. If you want classic trance, pick this up!

I've only got a handfull of tapes, the rest are cds...

Peace & love. D

That actually technically was my first electronic tape - back in Grade 6, when "Moo-Moo Land" actually hit the mainstream. I also had the 2-Unlimited and Technotronic tapes.

The reason you can recite it is cuz he never stops talking the entire set I've actually spoke with him about that set and he says it's a classic for those who were there... since I wasn't it was just kinda a pain in the ass. Ah well, I'm glad there are a lot of people who cherish it.

FIRST MIXED TAPES...

FIRST MIXED TAPES ARE I THINK
1) RYAN 7 AND OS/2 BACK TO BACK (95)
2) MR. NIVOC "DREAMS IN GOA"
3) D-FUNK-E1 (95)
4) OS/2 LIVE FROM DESTINY 10 (WICKED!!)
I'VE GOT ABOUT 200 TAPES AND THE SAME AMOUNT FOR CD'S. I WENT HARDCORE TAPE COLLECTING FOR A LONG WHILE, THEN SWITCHED TO CD. THEN I STARTED SPINING SO NOW ITS VINYL.
MY FAVOURITE TAPE OF ALL TIME WOULD HAVE TO BE
JOHN-E LIVE AT UTOPIA 96!!!
WHOOOOO HOOO!
