The yanks are now saying that they had a tougher road to the gold medal game then the canadians. Stop whining and take the loss like men. Friggen pansy's.

i have never been so proud to be canadian as i'am now! that was the best hockey game i have ever seen...i'am so proud of our boys! and women sticking it to the americans!!!!!!!!!!!

this is probably the happiest day of my life to date hehehe..if anyone knows me well they know that i live for hockey and i have been waiting for something like this a long time!

it makes me happy to see the country just having a blast ..waving flags..everything! so what if it was because of a hockey game..its nice to see because we really don't see this kinda unity much!

GO CANADA GO!!!!!!!

It's all the luck of the draw. Plus, the played Germany while we played Finland in the first round. I think it all evens out.

Man oh man.

I was in a lounge in Skydome, glued to the TV, with many other people who were working at the Auto Show, and I have to say that I'm SO proud to be Canadian.

Way to go boys, and to our girls......today is one I will soon not forget...great team effort overall, and I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh Canada indeed.....we are the champions

from a pure hockey point of view, the game was all anyone could ask for. truly legendary.

as for people talking about "silencing all the critics", i hope YOU weren't among those critics. it's funny how so many people (including media) were so quick to rag on the canadian players after their first two games, and on gretzky after the heartfelt honest speech he made after the czech game, and now they're all jumping back on the bandwagon.

teams need support through good times and bad. they need support ESPECIALLY when they falter. cities that have successful sports franchises UNDERSTAND that. when gretzky was giving his post-game press conference and talked about how all the negative press had affected him over the last few days, i felt bad for the guy (well, as bad as one could feel for a multi-millionaire sports legend).

if you don't support a team when they LOSE a big game (because that EASILY could have happened), you don't deserve to cheer for them when they win.

as for the u.s. team - hats off to them. they were spectacular throughout the entire tournament. jeremy roenick said, before the big game, that he was excited to be playing canada because he "knows team canada is the best in the world". that's class. (no big deal that one player said they had a harder road to the playoffs - it IS true after all.)

I say screw Herb Brooks and his stupid comment's.....

It's not our problem that Sweden "spit the bit" against Belarus..

I wonder how he feels now that we kicked their ass playing "Stupid hockey"

DUMBASS!!!
