hand wash vs. the delicate cycle

i've got a shirt that says "hand wash cold. lay flat to dry" on the washing instructions. i'm inclined to use the delicate cycle on my washing machine rather than washing it by hand. is this safe?

it's an 80/20 cotton/nylon split. doesn't seem so delicate to me.

it might lose shape or something if you machine wash it. hand wash it to be safe though, it's not hard.

handwash...it's actually really fun.
i love washing my nice things by hand...especially all the girly things...you know girls what i mean...
and in the summer ...hanging it all to dry out in the sunshine....and it all smells like the sun and the wind.....

okay i turned this into " i miss summer" thread
sorry sentence

doing things by hand is no fun when there's a machine in the next room that can do it for you.

ah well, i'm off to fill up the sink.

What I don't understand about hand-washing>........
Wringing the item out would totally make it a funky shape would it not?
I always use the gentle cycle for a short wash time and I have never had trouble
It is less wrinkled than wringing it out by hand, since you have to dry flat usually, it is better.
It washes better if there are any spots on it
I just use Zero and cold water and no problems yet
ESPECIALLY when it is a cotton, nylon mix

Everyone that knows me knows how many clothes I have and I haven't ruined them in the wash yet.

I say delicate......

if your concerned about it stretching, go to the dollar store and get one of the clothing bags to put your delicates in. Doesn't wring it like it normally would.

I HATE handwashing my delicates. Since we got a washer and drying in our apartment, it's delivate cycle all the way.
