My Cat is on Valium

So I got my wisdom teeth out last friday and one of the good things of this was that I got to spend about 10 minutes sitting around hooked up to an IV Valium machine. Man that was freakin-sweet. As a newbie to these 'benzos' I had always wondered what they were like. (another side benefit was the script for demerol... meh.. that was 'aight')

So, in order to avoid a bluelight post here...

I start looking for this so called Diazapam and lo and behold... four days later..

I notice my cat is having severe trouble walking up the stairs, is kinda wobbly, and is extra friendly. Like, it would allow a human to approach it and pet it, and it did not instantly run to it's 'safe place'.

Later, I notice in the cats cupboard, that it has received a prescription for Valium. The very same beautiful buzz I have craved for so long! My question is, who the fuck prescribes a CAT valium? Apparently my cat is to receive 1mg of Valium twice a day for the rest of its life due to its personality disorders. WTF is this shit? WHo gives their fuckin' 'pet' a psychotropic drug? On purpose? From a vet? Legally?

More importantly, do you think it's possible that I can take my cat's meds for recreation? I mean we've all done cat tranquilizers... do you think cat anti-anxieties would be OK too?

Hey... I've got 2 cats that are WAY to affectionate...

Does this mean I can get some "Disasociatives" presribed to my cats?

From what I am guessing, your parents do .

My exboyfriend dog was prescribed downers(unfortunately, I can't remember what kind they were) but they were more to control it's epilepsy.

Does this mean that I will maybe one day actually see this famed cat?

Valium can help with epileptic seizures. I have to give my dog a valium injection whenever he seizures.

Jeffus is becoming a junkie....

From the Ministry of you know you're hurting when you're checking out the cat's perscriptions for a buzz.

Is it a sticky, smelly yellow liquid?

My dog's on something similar.. I can't remember what it's called. It's $100 a bottle, though! Lasts 2 months.

I had attinal, klonopin and valium, but threw them out....hated every second of them

Pets get phenobarbitol a lot for their pet issues: seizures and leg-humping and the persecution complex that comes from being forced to eat pet food your whole life.

If it's diazepam it's diazepam, same active chemical for cats as for humans....but 1mg? A threshold dose for a human would be in 20mg range, and that's for somebody with no tolerance.

And you prefer valium to demerol? I think you need to go sit in your WallyBed for a few hours and think about that one.

halcion and rohypnol [insert waking up in the morning with blood in your underwear joke here] can be fun (kind of like being really drunk without the ethanol poisoning and nausea)...but the rest of the benzos are strictly for old ladies and meth comedowns

Oh the irony. You used to complain that the cat would never die. Now it seems that the longer it lives, all the better for you
