Europe parties harder then the West?

Ive heard all sorts of things from Europeans that I have met at or who go to parties.

They say stuff like, they have way bigger parties, way better Line-Ups/DJ's, way better Drugs and in general just a way better scene?

Any of you guys partied in the UK at all? Im curious....

I think no matter where you go you're going to enjoy it more than where you live.
Most likely you're on vacation when doing so, and going out in a city where you don't know anyone is also usually full of surprises. The music is the same everywhere, it's just that when you go somewhere outside of your own town everything is fresh and exciting. I'm sure if someone came from the UK to Toronto they'd think it was awesome (with our smaller and newer scene yet still great talent).

When I was in London two summers ago, I made a point of going to Ministry of Sound, to see if it was as amazing as everyone said it was. First and foremost the only club that I can think of that is remotely like it is Sona in Montreal, whereby getting in is often condered a priviledge. The attitude was seemingly much more laid back, and the people there were much more mature.
I saw Carl cox when I was there, so it's not as though I was experiencing anything that I had not already experienced before. The one thing that I did notice was there terminology, for example trance to them is progressive house, so I was kind of pissed off one night when I went out to some Trance night.
All in all, it was just cool to experience something different. Oh yeah, everyone I met hated Jungle....like really hated it! It's all about the garage nowadays.

I've partied in Italy and France. Good times, but nobody really knows how to dance. It's as if they have no rhythm at all.

I think peeps in Montreal party the hardest!

yes and ibiza.
they have ten times better line ups and the people are mental. in a good way, not a bad way. not that i'm categorizing anyone!!!

i mean, you've got The Gallery (best club in the world IMO), Elements, Colours, Cream, Gatecrasher, Fabric, Passion, etc. etc. all within relatively close driving distances. there'll be like 4 or 5 big djs on each night. people you actually REALLY REALLY want to see. UK clubbers are the best then you get places like cyberdog...which is amusing to go to on a sunday afternoon. i've yet to see anything like it here. there is always something going on every weekend.

it is true about them not being able to dance though. too funny to watch. maybe it's from dropping 8 pills all at once??? then again, i don't find the sketchy ones to be as creepy as the ones here. they also seem to be friendlier, just from my experiences. then again, maybe i myself was more outgoing since i was away from home.

anyways, maybe i'm biased, but that's the way i see it!

Yes, everything is bigger, including the drug consumption... then again, if a pill costs $4 in Holland, why not keep testing the limits? I have to admit though, for people that pop 4-6 Es per night, they do know how to handle themselves... mostly....

once you tell them you're from Canada, and because of your accent in England and your English elswhere they will ask, they'll want to reprazent. Hence the overpowering and infectious friendliness... I liked it...

I have been told that in some places in the UK pills are like 40-50$, but they are accordingly powerful? Now I hear about $4 pills.......

Not to focus on the drugs, but what is up?
I guess it must just vary from country country.

I would be very interested to see the difference in Dancing skillz, that would be soo cool. Isnt Ibiza really pricey? What is cyberdog?

All my friends that live over there.. or have moved say it's moving to clubs though... and it's a snobbier scene...
Some actually miss the parties here because they are 'old school' to them now.
The drugs they say are definitly better.. but they use a lot harder stuff too

My girlfriend is in Switzerland right now.. From what she has told me, the parties are bigger there. As for drugs, she said there is not alot of "E" around, but people seem to like speed as there drug. She said alot of people are like all dressed in black, and shaved heads. I dunno.. sounds wierd

Throngs of Richie Hawtin clones! Sounds intimidating!

I'd love to party there, I'll get there one day.

The UK simply has a more developed "club culture" than Canada. Indeed, people are just more mental across the pond, and they seem to get into their clubbing more than us.

It's hard to describe, but everything seems more "full-on" in England, especially in the Midlands and North.

You just have fewer people who stand around, or have casually stumbled upon the club and decided to check it out, or who stay for a few drinks and then leave.

I can't speak for anyone else, but sometimes while clubbing in Canada I feel like yelling, "Come on people! This isn't a high school dance!". Yes ... EVEN at the Guvernment from time to time.

I never found myself in this situation while clubbing in England.

By the way ... if you ever pay more than 10 for a pill in England, it had BETTER come with a blow job, at least!

oh! and i forgot about all the zillions of festivals.

cyberdog is this store in london where they have crazy wierd clubbing stuff and this cafe etc. etc. and you get loads of interesting people in there! you can hear it from like down the street. it was featured in mixmag a while ago.

pills are usually around five quid ( a bit pricier in london though).

ibiza isn't expensive unless you're going clubbing hehe. i think it worked out to like 30 POUNDS (u do the math) which is a LOT of money.

and let's not forget the vodka and the real GOOD redbull
