Uh, for a charity? I'm obligated to give exactly zero so any contribution made is above the minimum.

At our office, we have the option to donate to the United Way right off our paycheques. The minimum donation using this method is $5 per pay but I donate $10. I do, however, mutter 'you filthy animals' every time I get my stub.

just as bad as a coffee truck dood selling a KFC 'toonie tuesday' 2 piece chicken with fries, for $4.

party pizza comes with 2 slabs, for a total of 20 normal slices...$16.49
TTC makes it, at least, a 40 slice pizza times $1 each= $40

Here's the wording from the report:

"It should be noted that, in keeping with our guidelines pertaining to charities selling third party product, the actual percentage of sales that will be going to the United Way from the sale of the pizza is 46%."

Looks like it's not a minimum but a fixed percentage.

I guess my broad and admittedly-flimsy point is that if they're making money hand over fist for something so visible and transparent to the public, I can only imagine the amount of misappropriation that's happening beneath the public eye.

I've got the sollution. We have the TTC booth operators sell both tokens and tickets. They're in there anyway. Who's with me? This will surely generate $100M/year to cover the shortfall.

To cite a related example, the Princess Margaret Hospital Lottery (the one where you can win cars and homes and such)...

In 2005 (found a financial statement) revenue from the lottery was $61,933,000
However prizes and marketing cost $42,027,000

Leaving a profit of $19,906,000, less than a third of the amount raked in.

You gotta spend money to make money.

How about you could buy a token that IS a slice of pizza (they're about the same size anyway)... I just blew my own mind.
