i work for the provincial government. i'm doing project support for one of the major projects in the ministry of health and long term care. it's boring and requires little effort.

i have completed the degree requirements for a BA in comp sci and english. i have not yet graduated and may withdraw my request in order to continue my education.

i'm trying to decide if i should go back to school, go back to school for something else, or go looking for another job.

I work for The Ministry of The Attorney General, Crown Law Office - Criminal Division. We have a print shop on our floor that I run. We prepare documents for court such as appeal books. I also copy things like original photos and exhibits. I do most of the purchasing for my office, and some facilities work.

This job is okay, pays the bills, money is not bad, but I would like to a job that I enjoy more... somewhere out of the law field. Working for Lawyers is a little trying sometimes.

So i guess you're getting a GST cheque this year?

Graduated with an Elec Eng degree at UW and now I do hardware design/development in an acoustic and basband group for a wireless company. I get to play (we sometimes call it qualify/evaluate) with various audio chips and systems and try to satisfy marketing's needs/desires for future products.

w00t!

What do you do there specifically?

I work for a youth employment agency for 16-24 years olds. I help all the Scarborough, and North York youth figure out what they want to do, and them help them look. I market to employers alot, offering them subsidys and other free stuff. It is a good job for the resume, but there is no advancement. I am currently looking for a new job, but like so many people, I have no idea what I REALLY want, so we will all have to see.

I graduated from Western with my BSc (honors genetics), then went to U of T for my MSc (genetic counselling).

Now I am a genetic counsellor in the field of Herediatry Breast and Ovarian Cancer. I have clinics at Princess Margaret Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital, and I also involved with research at the Ontario Familial Breast Cancer Registry.

So yes I ended up in a job in my field

And I enjoy it very much!

3rd year at the Glenn Gould Professional School of Music, of the Royal Conservatory studying to receive my Bachelor of Music and receive a diploma for Vocal Performance.

Working as a waitress part-time at a restaurant on Bay street called Biscotti.

I am at that point where I just want to be finished. The one aspect of what I do that I can't deny my love for is my singing. Through all of the harmony classes that I find so confusing, the keyboard harmony classes that are so impossible for me right now I can always find pleasure in my singing. So that is what keeps me going through it all.

I sort of do work outside; my office is in a trailer...

I work on a construction site, scheduling things and planning how to close out the project that we're finishing up.

I got my degree in civil engineering from u of t, and have a job that's *exactly* in my field, and for the most part, I'm liking it.

okay, a couple things:

Rosey: be very careful about your idea to cancel your graduation.
i considered doing the same thing, and then realized that if i had continued on in my studies without graduating from my undergrad program, i would in fact use up any remaining "attempts" (i can explain attempts if you are unaware -- they are ridiculous in my opinion) and would actually make it impossible for me to get the degree for the work i had already completed.
so BE WARNED!

grooviegirl: how did you get your job? i am interested in working in policy in the government, regardless of level.
i have an undergrad in a related field and i'm bilingual.
is there hope for me yet?

as for boring old me: i went to school for Administrative and Commercial Studies (focus in public admin and public policy) and then also completed my honours standing in PoliSci.

i work for a financial trust company in a dept that handles the RSP and RIF plans for the Bank of Canada.
canada savings bonds say what?

so yes, i work in a related field, however, its related to the part of my education that i was LEAST interested in.
