Sorry, ya lamb.
I actually like the lamb the way it is. God, I want to eat that.

I got to make a birthday cake for Tribes favourite toddler!

The cake and icing were sugar free. My first time baking with sugar substitute Agave nectar.

House on Parliament again on Thursday.

Bass on some kind of bread or pastry? If someone knows what this is, lemme know. Cuz the whole description was in French.

I got a duck confit on lentils with cranberries in a reduction. It was incredible. I didn't even finish it. I had one piece of meat left and I couldn't do it!

Have I mentioned that I love House on Parliament? Yay for stronger caesars!

Yesterday, I made a caesar salad with grilled free-run chicken marinaded in lemon and this weird pink coarse Himalayan salt topped with homemade sour dough croutons, Ecuadorian pepper and... Haha, parmesan cheese I got from Shoppers Drug Mart.

God, this was delicious. I made a second one after. I'm on a skinless chicken breast kick all week. One club pack, 8 breasts... It's Saturday and it's all gone. Hehe.

Go hungry. Go on a Wednesday or Thursday night if you want a busy atmosphere.
But go on a Monday or Tuesday if you don't want to wait 45 minutes for a table.
Or go a little later but the specials run out.
The kobe beef, buttermilk fried chicken or sirloin specials usually run out fast.

That duck confit was $14.95. The bass was $13.95.

They do this great sirloin on a poutine that I inhaled. Always under $19.

Nope. Never. It's always packed except on Mondays and sometimes Tuesday. But with the nice weather, it will be packed every night till closing probably.

I kinda hate that it got so popular. Ah well.

the House is the best thing about cabbagetown! i am going to miss that place... some many good and cheap meals. my fail safe choice is always the pulled pork! mmmm...
the only thing i don't like about it is that you can never get a table... always packed.

yeah, everything about House is amazing, EXCEPT that you have to show up super early to get a table.
the food is awesome, the prices are reasonable, the drinks are well made, and the atmosphere is lively.
it is basically the gastro pub that needs to be replicated all over toronto.

I improvised a dinner tonight..

Wing steak with grilled peppers, onions and rapini on a red wine vinegar reduction with fresh thyme, peppercorn, garlic and pancetta.

Toasted herb foccacia.

Ugh. So good.

Thanks! The grilled quail added a smokiness to the dish that played nicely off the other elements. I'll definitely be making this again. The little legs/thighs on top were an added bonus also.

My family is from Abruzzo, near Lanciano.

i have worked as the audio director of this project for the past three years.

i encourage people to take a look and sign up for a free trial.

cooking is an amazing art but i'm still too lazy to make anything complex. even though i know a ton from all these videos i've worked on

http://rouxbe.com/
we even teach the fundementals over in the school section (oh i see you can't use the trial to get that content, oh well)

Dinner at Tomi Kro.. I finally found these photos. Great place. Will be heading back soon!
$8 specialty cocktails.

Lobster balls

Crabcakes with cucumber salsa

Salmon tartare and tuna sashimi

This was neat. Vinder ordered duck terrine with a creme brulet topping. It was really good with the cranberry compote.

Mussels

Shrimp bites

Onion fritters and sirloin

Seared sesame ahi tuna

The biggest ossabuco I've ever seen. We all ate some cuz there was so much.

Not sure what this was... Skate?

Risotto

Lori and I shared the scallops.

I am a huge fan of Tomi Kro. The food is simple, affordable and well plated. The ingredients always have a lot of flavour and it's one of the only places that does fusion that doesn't make me feel sick after. The portions are generous for the smaller apps and the mains are interesting.

The service is alright but it's exceptional when it's the male staff (sorry ladies). The ambiance is chic, modern and extremely food-friendly. I find even the lighting to be appetizing.

Nice shots, Sunny. The fish looks like halibut, perhaps?
