I can't believe how many useless facts I encounter on a regular bases. Let's collect them all here.

At last check, the governor of Arkansas makes $60,000 a year. His salary is the lowest of all 50 states.

The outdoor temperature can be estimated to within several degrees by timing the chirps of a cricket. It is done this way: count the number of chirps in a 15-second period, and add 37 to the total. The result will be very close to the actual Fahrenheit temperature. This formula, however, only works in warm weather.

that's actually not a useless fact. it's very important in terms of stem cells and diversification of a generic cell into specific cell types.
