Now if Im not mistaken, I was under the impression his last set was at Wemf. If this is not the case, I hope someone replies and gives the details of this 'boat cruise.'

Hey, y'all-
The flyer is out this weekend and tickets will be available tomorrow (limited number because it is a boat cruise).
WEMF WAS going to be my last Dr. Trance set, but WEMF is hardly all about me, so I figured I'd do a Sunday afternoon boat cruise (in August).
Activate is promoting so look for postings on Tribe and all the other boards by the end of the weekend.
Thanks for all your support!

Thanks for the contributions! Nitrous/Atlantis had a huge impact on alot of people back in the day.. i know that wasn't all you, but it probably wouldn't have happened in the same way had you not been involved.

Your show on CFNY then NRG 108 had a great run and helped to bring trance into the forefront. Some classic sets from that show to be sure.

Can't forget Alterna-line either.. what a cool little idea that was. Hell.. I even had VIP to your friday night Opera House gigs..

My hat goes off.

OK, you definitely get the Obscure Reference of The Day award! If you're coming on the cruise, bne sure to tell Iain and James that you remember Alternaline; they'll probably buy you a drink!

i still have alterna-line stickers. can i trade them in for a copy of the video from airport 94? i'd give my left nut for a copy of that. i remember watching it at the last Atlantis wishing i was there.. instead of at the last Atlantis. it was my first party and probably the largest scale event i've ever been to.

haven't seen iain in over 10 years.. geez.. wonder if he'd remember me.

Send me a private message here at Tribe and we'll see what we can do. I have the edited version of that video; I'm not sure where the unexpurgated version is.

What?
Dan, you bad boy, you!

Nitrous vids? I'm sure I gave my mud rave video to Iain...but he can't find it. I'd kill to see Skot Fraser in his yellow slicker again.

The 100.7fm sets are memorable, I have at least 15-16 tapes.

Those were the times when trance music really meant trance music.
I am definitely going to be there.

For sure.

Used to always tape "Technopolis", still have a couple floating around.

That 98-99 trance was the best period for it IMHO.

I remember a set by the good Dr that stands out for me, was at the BLC for Bittersweet 99? I think it was 99....anyways....back trance room ram jammed and just hearing tune after tune.

The Fraser St. parties were actually Sunday after parties that I did with Big Claudio Dynamite. Great space, which we ended up not being able to use again because of complaints that were lodged with the cops about Joe Rockheads, which is in the same building.

The House of Trance was held in several locations over the course of 2 years including that green building at the foot of Sherbourne St., 16 St. Joseph, the space on John St. north of Queen where the Thai restaurant is now, and my favourite, the Sanctuary Club on Queen St. Here's the ultimate irony about that space: it was the city's darkest and dingiest underground club when we were there (there were even coffins in the dungeon, er, basement). Today that building is a Starbuck's!!!

i did a few parties in that space too...crazy little location. we were always finding people outside who, for some readson, couldn't figure out how to get in!

now those were the days: when you were outwside the building, clutching the flyer you received at the last party, you could hear the whoomp whoomp of the bass...but where the hell is the entrance??? Those warehouse parties on King St. were always nuts like that too (waaay back in the day to like '89-'90 for that reference, tho')

looking forward to the Boat Cruise!

That's what I'm talking about when people ask what the "old days" were all about! Were they better? That's individual taste for you...but I personally wouldn't trade them for anything. Anybody who experienced the warehouse years should feel lucky to have been there.
