Cash is king. Very true. The prices listed are pretty much all standard for Sony products. But if you drop the hint that you have X amount of dollars and will buy right today, they'll knock something off the price for you.

One thing to keep in mind is that the stands for Sony TVs are expensive. I think mine retailed for $500 or something. Which is an absolute ripoff for what they give you. But what you should keep in mind is that there is a massive markup in the TV stands and so never pay full price for them. They'll often include them for free, or $100 at most (cuz that is pretty much what it costs them). It just gives them some "room to move" when they are trying to give you a deal.

    Understood.

I just kind of assume that when people buy such items, one would be foolish to not get all component based inputs/outputs and that your receiver has multiple digital input and outputs. I take too much for granted.

And the XBR are over priced IMO, why not just go HDTV for the price?

    It is HDTV. Bitch. [IMG]

You are paying for the picture quality though. I never showed you mine when you came over, but seriously, watch a DVD on it (using a progressive scan player) and you will see where the extra money is spent.

But again, to each his/her own. Depends on what you are looking for in a TV. Size, picture quality, price, etc ... lots of different factors each individual to each buyer.

Doh, my bad, I was thinking the old XBR, where the major difference was the speaker systems built in and a bit better picture quality.

Are you serious about wanting to sell your 36' XBR? I'd be interested for sure.

Maybe. I am not in any rush though. It's not that old. And I would have to find a suitable replacement first, hehe.

i have the 27" Wega and i am LOOOOOOOVING IT!!

the size depends entirely on how big the room is that you'll be using it in, and how far back the couch is.

in my place, i'm no more than 8 feet from the TV, so its perrrrfect!

    It's all about the 100" Grundig. Now that's what I call a t.v.

I always thought it was "VEGA" and not "WEGA", too. But go to any Sony website and you will see that they are using the name "WEGA", and not "VEGA" to describe that model line-up. I would have to give Sony the authority on this one.
