I've moved countless times over the past 5 or 6 years. Mainly due to the co-op program at Waterloo making you have to re-located every 4 months.

I finally thought I could settle down in my current place for a few years, this avoiding the hassle of "the move". But I am now being forced out at the end of May.

However, this time, I am going to be smart about moving. I am going to hire movers. Seems to me it would be the most obvious solution to eliminate the hassle.

My only worry is that they are probably not going to take care of your items as much as you would yourself. But after spending almost an hour with 2 friends trying to move a 300+ lb TV into my place, I refuse to do it again. And this time I will have couches, chairs, tables, a bedroom set, spare car parts (LOL) so it can only get worse if I were to do it myself.

If they do a good job, I'll be nice and offer them each a beer. Maybe two.

    Cheers ... Ian [IMG]

Oh yeah ... one more word of advice. Always try and move during the middle of the month. It is always less hassle to do so. Renting a truck is easier and cheaper. Hiring movers is easier and cheaper. And if you live in a condo/apartment, then you won't be fighting for the loading/unloading dock with all the other people who are moving on the last day of the month.
