A former singer with dance act Soul II Soul has died in a bizarre car accident that was triggered by an apparent shop-lifting. The BBC reports that Doreen Waddell, 36, was approached by staff at a Tesco store in Shoreham, West Sussex, on Friday, on suspicion of shoplifting. The singer fled through a back door and ran across the nearby A27 highway, where she was struck by three cars. She died later in hospital. The BBC said goods from the Tesco, including children's items, were found strewn across the highway. The singer, who provided lead vocals on Soul II Soul's 1989 hit album "Classics Volume I," had to be identified by fingerprints, the report said. "this is a shame, keep on moving & back II life are timeless classics..."
