    breaks?

    dave clarke?

he put out a electro cd how long ago man?

pure electro madness and im talking real electro....

check out any sets from Aux 88... Drexciya (DETROIT.)

then if you want the fad of new wave electro check out Miss Kitten and the Hacker or anything for that matter on International Gigilo :)

if you find any sets from Rother, im sure its got some taste of electro ..or anything from Christian Morgenstern.......

ask the electrotekbabe....im sure she will shoot me down here anyhow! ;)

    goodluck,

    peace,

    doug.

    I'll shoot you down...

    Here comes the rant...................................

    "dave clarke?

he put out a electro cd how long ago man? " doug said.

actually he's put out 3 electro cds. one LAST YEAR! part of the two disc mix cd set off of react records...expensive and only worth it for the electro mix (which isn't really that great except for the tracks he has on it)

Electro Boogie volume 1 (the best of the three) is available in a three cd package with the dj Hell and Mr C mix cds for $33 at HMV and Yonge and Eglinton.

That cd is a great example of electro old and new.

    secondly,

check out any sets from Aux 88... Drexciya (DETROIT.)

AUX88 live pa's (since they're a live act) are 'meh' from the sets I used to have from France. Short too (45 min.)

I have a DJ Dijital (AUX88s DJ) tape and it is mostly ghettotech..a medly of electro and booty. Track listing: Suck it, Dick and Balls, Get your own check stub, posatronix etc.... Really ghetto ass tape including the hand drawn cover of a demon and some booty bitchez.

Drexciya (aka Dopplereffekt aka Other People Place aka Japanese Telecom, aka Heinrich Mueller aka Elektroids aka Der Zyklus (thats with Shake tho..) aka the best new school electro producer ever!!!!)

gerald aka drexciya etc.. doesn't make too many public appearances so I doubt you will ever find a live PA or dj set (don't think he spins anyways...could be wrong) ALTHOUGH IS YOU EVER DO HOOK ME UP!!!!!!!!!!

    Doug scrawled:
"then if you want the fad of new wave electro check out Miss Kitten and the Hacker or anything for that matter on International Gigilo "

haha you're too funny technopimp ;)

    fad.

sorry buddy, but new wave (from the 80s) and electro (from the 70s) have been interwoven since Depeche Mode, italodisco and the days of masscara on men.

so you generalize International DeeJay Gigolo records on the lone record you have from that label (MissKitten and the Hackers first album).

ever check out the rest of the releases.

Terrence Fixmer- techno, up your alley too, I presume
David Carretta (sp?)- another amazing TECHNO producer
DJ Naughty- from electro to classic house music

also your buddy Jeff Mills is on IDG. Dave Clarke did a one sided techno record on IDG as well....Advent...I could go on and on about how IDG is more than a nuwave/electro fad label.

now for Richards original question on where to get some electro mixes.

email me in private or check out these commercially available cds.
    destroyr1@hotmail.com

ELECTRO BOOGIE VOLUMES ONE THROUGH FOUR
**1- DAVE CLARKE (mentioned above in XMix box set)
    *2- DAVE CLARKE
3- DEPTH CHARGE (J SAUL KANE)
4- AUX 88 (DON'T LISTEN TO DOUG, ITS SUCKS! GOOD TRACKS HORRIBLE COMPUTER PROTOOLS MIXING)

    TIGA- MONTREAL MIX SESSIONS
DOUBLE CD, ONES BORING CLUB TECHNO AND THE OTHER IS ELECTRO WITH SOME MINIMAL FUNK THROWN IN...DECENT MIX.

    TIGA- AMERICAN GIGOLO
TIGA MIXES THE INTERNATIONAL DJ GIGOLOS CATALOGUE...AND QUITE POORLY I MIGHT ADD. DECENT MIXING, JUST THE MIX DOESN'T REALLY TAKE YOU ANYWHERE. GREAT TRACKS THOUGH- MORE IN THE NEW WAVE ELECTRO FAD STYLE ;)

theres more, but they are few and far between or rare
(I.F.- Mixed up at the Hague is amazing, but hard to find!!!!)

now that I have ranted, I will step back into lurker mode....

don't take anything I said as offensive doug (as I know ya will anyways) just debating.

one of the djs who runs this site also has his own, www.djmadwax.com. that site has several electro mixes up. check out the August 2001, October 2001, and February 2002 mixes.

also, check older posts in this forum for a thread called "back like a bad rash" or something, it's a link to a 30 min electro set by Ether Mann (aka gsnuff on the board) which is very good, and very weird.

    a couple of others:
matthew herbert - live @ tresor, mistakes
two lone swordsmen - breezeblock 09-12-2000
felix da housecat - breezeblock 06-25-2001

that covers what i've got in my collection. :)

check www.electroempire.com for a whole whack of info on current & old school electro, plus a bunch of great old school electro mixes.

or go download the program at www.soulseek.org and do some searching. I've found live sets by Adult and Legowelt so far, but more importantly, TONS of individual tracks by so many electro artists, it would be ridiculous to type them all here.

    destro?!?!

why you be breakin' my balls?

well atleast i got somebody all riled up , didn't know bout Dave Clarke having a newly released electro CD, don't really care for that matter..... seems his big cd box set always gets mentioned though... funny how many "tommy hamilton" track he uses for his cds...

anyhow, i have a drexciya set here..... and i dont go on Morpheus,or any mp3 sharing sites so i wasn't sure what to find dude....just tossed a quick couple names in there...

and to answer your question i have quite a few releases out on Gigilo including Carretta,Fixmer.....Vitalic,Steril,Advent,tiga...etc etc etc.... no worries dude i say its a fad but im still ridin' it out ;)

i know all about Depeche Mode,New Order etc... aswell and how they started "new wave" i was a HUGE fan back in the day and still like to drop it here and there .

    peace mon

    doug. :) "technopimp" <-----????? huh? ;)

    hook me up!!!

    damn sun!

    a drexciya set!!!
    mp3?

could you hook a brotha up????

I don't have any live Drexciya!

    I wasn't bustin ya balls...just stating what I believe.
    :)

I know ya like new wave and electro....that's why I was surprised at your cheapshot towards the 'fad'.

The 'fad' is all these 'techno' djs that jump on the band wagon....thats the fad.

If you ask some of the New Wave/Electro kats they'd tell you that they have been doing it for years (ADULT. Kitbuilders Hacker etc..)

but when a trend like this breaks through, there is always the people who try to cash in

Drexciya can be more Detroit techno at times. More experimental I guess...

His Dopplereffekt alias is pure electro in a german evil robot sorta way...

Most of the German and Dutch electro is pretty evil sounding....so is some of the miami industrial bass electro.

try www.ersatzaudio.com for some excellent links.

if you want that evil electro sound, pick up or download that Dave Clarke mix cd....it comes with a techno mix cd in the store...but you can likely find the electro mix online at some swap site.

it has that electro-techno sound through most of it...\

ok, I've blabbed toooo much today
