i was there, a pretty good party I must say.
I think there was more like 35,000+ people, tons though thats forsure.

Finger Eleven was awesome, as was Big Wreck. I thought Tea Party was horrible, but the main event TOOL did not dissapoint, TOOL was wicked, from there first song right on too the last, I love their music.

    Peace

Arrived in Barrie area at about 3:30. None of us had driven to Molson park before, so we got a little lost in cow country looking for it. Stopped at a Tim Hortons for directions and pee break - got a little freaked out when Tim's dude tells us the power is out. [IMG] Finally we found the park, and the power was most definately on. On the hike in from the parking lot we heard a *very* scary Jon Bon Jovi "Living on a Prayer" cover...

And silly me - forgot my parka at home! What was I thinking?! Dude! I thought it was July?? SO... Me: with my sunglasses, sunscreen and t-shirt, made it our official mission (as if it wasn't already) to drink as much beer as possible, as soon as possible, to numb our senses from the cold and blustery winds...

First stop: Molson House = Molson Heaven! Upon entry we were given *6* beer tickets each (only 6?? s'alright, we'll manage [IMG] )... in the yard there was a nice spread of free food - burgers and dogs, salads, fruit, and fruitcicles... we made our way inside the "house" (which is more like a mess hall) full of drunks of all sorts from around the country [IMG] we drank... we drank... and we drank... sadly, there was no music (think maybe they had the radio on somewhere, but you couldn't really hear it), but it was at least warm damnit! At about 7:00 we were out of house tickets, considered going outside to drink the 5 tickets we bought on the way in... only to find out the other beer tents were CLOSED! [IMG] WTF? Ticket refunds at 8:30, so we decided to stay where the beer was still flowing...

Suddenly it was 9:30 "TOOOOOOL!!" and we bailed that hot box like nobody's business... rode the "MOM" train down front and center just in time for the Rev Maynard's appearance... "he's bald!?!" (no wig??) and wearing some sorta space suit?? at least *he* was dressed for the weather... the crowd went fucking NUTS!! Myself included... I kept having visions of that OFF bug spray commercial - thinking that at any moment, one good squeeze and I'd be airborn! Plenty of others were [IMG] ...every song was pure perfect adrenaline sex. Maynard sung to the vid screen (getting off on the naked digi-chicks??) and blasted out 5 of their popular radioplay songs ...and with a "happy birthday Canada, good night!" they were gone [IMG] no encore, no britney spears cracks, nothing like the APC show... oh well, if I'd wanted a real Tool show, I guess I should have gone to a real Tool show.

Fireworks overhead of an insane herd of drunk, rushed-out, ripped-off, "it's too fucking soon to go home" Tool fans... fences were scaled and ripped apart... found our way out to the parking lot... "which way to Canada??" ...we did not follow directions or the mass of other cars, somehow found a clear country road going south and were back home in 40 min...

My first Edgefest...not exactly what I was hoping for, damn weather, but it was fun... THANKS to the party kids from Kingston that gave me their plastic bag/coat for some wind breakage! THANKS Molson for your "hospitality" [IMG]

They only did 5 songs? Damn.
When I saw them (97, lollapalooza) they did way more than that.

I'm maynarded out for now.. APC 3 times in about a year.. enough for me.

Yup - 5 songs - in an hour and 10 min. And yah - when they did lollapalooza with Korn - much much better show. <shrug>

    maynarded out??? that's impossible!

I had a blast. Got so sunburned (or maybe wind burned?) that I have the BEST looking raccoon eyes on the block. [IMG]

I finally got to meet Bif. I was so happy I almost cried (I've loved her for so long)
So I sported my bif naked shirt that i had bought with pride that day. (It matched well with my Canadian flag skirt)

I also froze to death. I seriously didn't think i would live through the day to see Tool.

But I did, thank god I did.

I loved Finger Eleven...it's about time I saw them on the main stage

Tea Party was awesome, I love em, always have always will

I couldn't gone without 3 doors down, Gob *BLECH*, and Big Wreck, but what can you do?

    Sevendust and Mudmen were great

    and TOOL was amazing.

If anyone saw a midget body surfing with a canadian flag, that was me!!!

    WOOOOO HAPPY CANADA DAY

    well...sorta

    hehehe...

my throat is sore, my body aches, by face is red, but it was worth it [IMG]

Totally agreed!!!!! We're there cops walking by where you were? Some peeps parked across from us got tickets for drinking in the parking lot, so the booze had to be on the d-low, we were actually hot boxing my brothers mini-van when cops walked right by the rear window, thank god they didn't see us.

    Peace

Yeah, they walked by us, but they didn't do anything about the beer.

We did however have to hide the bong and all other paraphernalia for a bit. [IMG]
