Dubfire

His latest solo action has been off the hook in my opinion. The tracks he has made and his last set at the Guvernment has made me place him at the top tier of Dj/Producers out there. It must be hard to hit where he is now and want to go back to sleep dish.

Any takers?

Him and Sharam have been sounding different for years. I'm glad they went separate. They were past their creative peak. Dubfire plays way better stuff.

I kind of agree with you, but they had an interesting balance when they were at their peak. I think they could all very well surprise us if they team back up again in a few years.

thanks lee will check that out whe I get home. I never listen to Dubfire tracks because of the association with Sleep Dish but based on your recommendation I will give it a try.

If it turns out to be gay trance Ima give you a cock punch next time I see you.

Float Away is on the GU Taipei Unmixed Comp, though you'll have to buy a 3x pack to get it - http://www.threebeatrecords.co.uk/search/artist/dubfire

agreed, that track is sick as hell.

Yeah, I bought the 3 pack but it's not the same version that's on the CD which sucks. There are no vocals. I was pissed.

it's meant to be "fucked up at a club" music though, that's the appeal in someone like Dubfire. he's been at so many parties that he's way in tune with what works with the druggy crowd. I find a lot of good producers miss this element - lots of studio tricks etc but no understanding of an afterhours crowd

its a perfect example of that bland sound thats everywhere these days..

Ditto.

I do really like his remix of transit time, though its really not that much different from the original.

*raises hand*

Another person who dislikes Roadkill as well. I was listening to it on the GU31 today and it's by far the worst track on the compilation. Pretty feeble effort coming from Dubfire from this pov.

you listen to "stranded" or "stay gold" or "____ from back then" and then "roadkill" and its kind of like....urrghh...

seeing the hottest chick from your high school, who now weighs 350 lbs. and is living in her own filth in a cardboard box on the corner of yonge and king

or something..

Even the more commercial remix work that he and sharam have done stands up a lot better roadkill. I'd take the JT remix over it any day.
