Well to be honest, looking through recent events, you can only see Derrick Carter/Mark Farina/whomever else so many times.....bring in the fresh talent. Remember the first time Jacob London came to town? Or Justin Long? I'd like to see some new names coming through again.

True. There used to be a great promoter team that would bring in great new bumpin house acts all the time as well as the best locals....................hmmmmmmm what where they called..............

Fodera should be here next year, no doubt. Would also love to see the south americans roll through our fair city some day - Jay West, Manuel Sahagun etc

well, i was more touching on how exciting it was (for me at least) to not know what to expect from a DJ, and then be completely impressed (or unimpressed *mike dixon*cough*) by a DJ i'd never heard live. Now i'm not trying to knock what staples like Carter et al can do, fantastic dj's, but i know exactly what i'm gettin'.......but too much of a good thing gets dull for me.

agreed. As much as I like Carter, Farina and Heather et al., having different dj's brought in would be fresh.

Yeah lunnen would be a good fit to play at that gig.

Another producer on fire these days that would be cool to book: Atnarko.

Gramophonedzie
Jamanta Crew

We could really just go on and on with this. The problem is so many of the cats I want to hear live are from overseas so unless they have a big enough draw to book them into a big club it's not financially feasible.

Someone needs to talk to promoters in Montreal etc. and organize a mini-tour to get the Inland Knights over. Or see if they are in Miami coming up and have any NA dates available.

Checked their upcoming schedule on the Elite Management site. They are playing a New Years Eve party in Goa! That would be a jam to hit. Other than that there are some Leeds dates in feb but no NA dates on there.

The Drop Music night in room 3 at Fabric that happened on November 21st would have been a hype jam to hit:

ROOM ONE:
Craig Richards, Zip, Margaret Dygas, Soulphiction feat Suzana Rozkosny (LIVE)
ROOM TWO:
Terry Francis, Pan Pot,
DUMB UNIT...
Jeremy P. Caulfield, Cesare vs Disorder
ROOM THREE:
DROP MUSIC...
Inland Knights, Lawnchair Generals, Kinky Movement

Just realized they're on APT for NA. They were on the west coast in september.

There just has to be a way.

this is funny - just yesterday i was wondering when someone is going to book sonny fodera to come here. also interested in kinky movement. i wouldn't expect these guys to come to toronto exclusively, but you'd think if they can get like 5 dates in north america it would be worth it for the experience alone.

funny though - the sound diggers was here in the summer for a weekend cause his sister lives here and got married this summer, but i guess the timing wasn't right or you'd think he would've tried to line up a gig.

also organized crime (hawley and aurelius) aren't too far away in milwaukee, i was wondering if you guys should invite them up. john did tell me the story already about the last trip which sounded pretty crazy

I am in Ottawa now and would love to see some of them stop over here on their way through MTL and Toronto.

I have been doing my best to see if local people would book Justin Long, Hodges would be awesome but I suppose it is a tough place (Ottawa). I was at Fred Everything on a Thursday night recently and there might have been twenty people there. Of course, it didn't bother me much....

Heck, once I get some cash flowing in my direction, I'm going to offer my own coin to hear any of the guys in this thread play.
