oh man that's brutal. do you think it had something to do with being on a thursday? fred everything is another name that should come to toronto i think.

overall this thread has it right - too much farina and carter, and not enough of everyone else. of course there's not much to compare here though - those two guys have a legacy which brings out consistent numbers. a mark farina fan for example might go to all his jams but not any other deep house djs.

Yes, most likely. Ottawa can be a bit weird in terms of predicting turn out. Lucky for me, I doubled up and went to Fred in MTL at Salon Daome the night after and the place was RAMMED so I got to see Fred play a set pretty much for me, then rip it again the night after with a bunch of friends in tow.

With respect to Farina and Carter, I don't put any effort into seeing those guys anymore because I simply prefer the freshness and heat the younger or less known jocks bring. Plus those guys tour all the time and are always coming around... but I have to admit, I heard the last time Farina was in Ottawa about a month, it was insane good.

DJ Mes is another guy that I have always wanted to see. Every set I download of his kills in terms of high energy banging tracks. Great for the gym. And now that I'm back east, I hope to see Raoul Belmans the next time he goes to MTL.

more good calls here. and mes would actually be reasonable since he's in the states(albeit on the west coast i guess)

i have to say that I am shocked that Raoul Belmans has not yet played in Toronto. It certainly hasn't been for a lack of opportunities to get it sorted, we brought him to Quebec City 3 times in 2 years!

dj first, producer second. the last time he played in QC we couldn't even get him to down shots with us cause he always had 3 channels in the mix, it was just retarded.

we're trying to bring him back in '10, you know who to call.

I'd like to hear Rob Mello again, his set in QC and at Piknik in MTL a couple of years back were off the chain.
