Ghost Dance - Keating Channel - Halloween 2009
2nd time i have been to that place, and each time, its been really good times.
arrived shorty after 11, got inside, and proceeded to walk around, checking out the layout etc. i have to say i ADORE the back patio space, i actually dont know how the music was inside, other than catching like 30 mins ish of Leelee Michi. She Ra costume and all, throwing down some fantastic tracks, great way to get in and grab a drink and groove out. after that headed outside, Hans was on the decks, playing some solid DnB, and was an awesome set to start the night off outside. Sidenote came on after that, and his set was just great, really solid solid set, had the entire patio grooving out right hard, some truly choice tracks, and some great sounding bass. Jonas K came on after him, and this was the first set that really just made it for me for that evening. some of the hardest, driving, fierce, raw, tech step.... i havent danced like that to good tech step in like i think close to 3 years easy. Dood you played a DISGUSTINGLY SICK SET. mad props, thank you for that. i have to say Komodo's live set was absolutely stunning, live flute accompanying the just epic dubstep, along with some digeredoo. it was like and amalgamation of all the sweetest choice tracks from guys like Nero, Eskmo, Bassnectar, but i dont think i had heard even half the tracks he played. could not stop dancing all night outside. got to hang out with some of my best friends, had an amazing time, outdoor fresh air and smoking, not nearly as packed as i bet alot of the other parties were, just like a really solid amount of people. i am sooooo glad i decided to hit this party up, cuz from the sounds of it, it was one of the better places to be. thanks to the people throwing the party, amazing job, everyone at keating channel, all the talented artists. much love to Nunich, Jon, Jenn(skittles taste the rainbow), ken, pralad, and my beautiful partner in crime, Joanne ![]() hope everyones halloween was as good as ours was. i think i am finally feeling right tuckered. Outside was best! - Bell was pretty tame inside. True.
I gave up on him when he started with the vocally house diva jams. |

Outside was terrific! A really nice party with an excellent Halloween vibe. Those patio heaters were a nice touch. The costumes were great! Especially the shy jellyfish girl. I hope to get photos up in the gallery later today.

Thanks to everyone for coming out! This party was totally off the hook and was well worth the long day and aching muscles!
Lots of killer music [Komodo was a class act. Wicked tunes and a pleasure to deal with], awesome costumes [my vote goes to the glowing jellyfish] and great vibe :] And thanks for the props, Jai! I haven't enjoyed playing a set that much in a while either! Jonah K |

*ackin eh man. lol
i wish i could have simultaneously experienced all the awesome parties that occurred on saturday. I miss the dayze when all of toronto's partiers were in one place for nights like this! honestly, just have it all under one roof, 5 rooms, and each promoter does a room! |

The costumes were great, the heated tarp was comfortably packed at all times, and the music outside was killer--Jonah K and Komodo in particular. I had no idea what to expect from Komodo but the jellyfish told me I'd like it and sure enough, I did.

Got to the party roughly around 12:30-ish - Dan Bell was just setting up as i arrived - The space was awesome and the outside patio was really cool too.
I would have to agreed w/ Praktik and say that Dan Bell was AMAZING - he never fails to lay down a solid set, his track selection is priceless, I danced the entire set and not once did i ever hear any DIVA house, just pure deep house and techno!! Was super cool that the BNE crew were able to get him back in Toronto, was looking forward to this party for awhile and it was definitely worth the 20$ entry fee. Did anyone get any recordings of Dan Bells Set ?? |

Great night overall. It was nice to finally check out the venue in a non-pub capacity and it was setup very well. Props to everyone involved.
I thought Dan Bell was good, and I danced for his entire set, but I had trouble really getting into it. Basilisk -- your set was awesome and exactly what I needed that night! It has definitely been a while since I last heard you spin and I gotta say I'm enjoying the direction you're taking. Keep it up. |

Dan Bell was okay, but I think and while I liked some of his selection the set didn't grab me, but I knew what to expect from him. I didn't hear any vocally house tracks, but there's nothing wrong with diva house!
Costumes were great and it seemed like a lot of people were having blast, but boy my body is still aching from that long night. Thanks to Jai+Jo (lucifer+lady gaga), Nunich (dominatrix) and Pralad (clark kent)! |
