Harvest Festival 2009 - helps you love life, tru fax
easily in my opinion one of the best harvest nights in recent memory.
first off, thank you once again for easily the best party ever year, without fail, and each year you manage to out do yourselves, and its truly legendary. the layout of the grounds was FANTASTIC, much more centralized locations, dual bon fires, the barge, and i pour out some beer for my fallen emu bredren, you were deeply missed. regardless, i cannot remember a better night of tunes, played by the finest artists and producers in not only ON, but canada and the ' good states '. KF's set incited a innate desire to rock out as hard as possible. dood, you crushed me, and i <3 you and cannot wait to see you play more absolute raging, delicious, deadly , KILLIN FUCKAS techno. unfuckingbelieveable i got to go run around for 3/4 of twonz set, but caught the last 1/4 and it freaking fantastic. Dylan / Ill Gates , you sir, i did not think it was possible, but you alone, possibly played an even more absolutely relentless, in your face, grinding, dirty, epic shit. i was entirely at the mercy of the onslaught of the best and finest produced shit. you are in class of your own, and literally destroyed the techno tent. i am still partying from the weekend, no sleep, epic times. i will complete this later. much love to Dylan, Nunich, Nick C, KF, Steve, Morgan, Sam, Andrew, Sandra, Tara, Roland( tech fixer extraordinaire ! EMIL !!!! Sophia, Jamie K, Ian G, Jon, Jenn, Nick D, and my beautiful BEM ! im so ridiculously ecstatic. i wish harvest was 3 times a year. more to come + pics ! thank you Justin, Dave & Irving for a truly glorious weekend. Heroism has increased by a full 33% RIP Stu the Emu. <3333333333 [jai] ps - i love Amoretto. |

Best Harvest so far. The weather threatened, which kept some wimps away, but not too many as the attendance was still enough to make a rocking party. Those who were worried missed out as it wasn't as cold as it has been, and the rain mostly held out. Longer review to follow, but the setup really had to be seen. . . amazing. . .

And yes, the barge that the organizers spent half a week building and a couple of grand worth of lumber was amazing! And yes, Ill Gates and KF totally had the sets of the night, very close seconds were Polyphonic, Lee Osborne and the BOK crew in the AM! Actually everything I heard was fantastic. . . however, I just realized I didn't even see the Trance tent

Anyway, I very much enjoyed KF, Tapwatr & Quivering Virgin, Machinelf, and Ekoplex's chill set in the pyramid. Didn't honestly hear much else as I slept through most of the night so I wouldn't be trainwrecking my way through that late Sunday morning set ![]() I gotta say, Harvest really stepped it up this year. Excellent work, everyone! |

that was obviously THE toronto party of the year.
soooooo classic! the new setup/layout was brilliant! especially loved the barge (did anyone else give the ferryman two pennies? lol) KF was obviously awesome, and i was really impressed with leelee mishi! she is a class act for sure. had a GREAT time playing too. sooo fun. special thanks to the piratey watcher for taking those videos. that was great man. your vids always come out so nice with that sick ass mic on your camera ![]() HUGE props to the whole harvest crew. you guys are simply the best. no question! <3 illiam b. gates |

I loved the music in both tents! Was surprised at how funky/fun the psy-trance tent was ... remembered really being impressed 2 years back when we ended up spending most of our time there.
![]() The most lovely & unexpected surprise for me personally was how good the vibe still was at 9:30 in the a.m. ... still going strong a couple of hours later. When they closed the techo tent, the people still moving just moved on over to the other tent & continued their fun. Truly worth the drive up north!! I only wish I'd gone Friday for the camping. |

I agree. The vibe stayed super strong all night and just would not die in the AM. And it wasn't a sketchy vibe at all! I think I danced until 10am or so, and then just hung out for most of the day at the Pyramid and everyone had huge grins on their face most of the time.

I must comment on this because I actually noticed this year that the trance tent didn't sound so bad to me....of course Jai wouldn't have let me go in it but everytime we passes it since we were camping in the back forty way past harvest civilization I actually was enjoying it as we passed!! That my friends was a fabulous birthday party for me thank you although the trek from campsite to car to different areas for me was a lot of quests and i ended up just grooving on a haybale in the techno tent for the majority of the evening I still enjoyed myself! Highlights of my night were of course KF, followed by Dylan---loved your choices --- You ain't artsier then me is one of my faves and i was talking to Marco a couple times and had to rock out and let him finish his convo after....actually being recognized as Blue Eyed Monster by Marco was very entertaining to me since it is always Jai- "glitch T. Anomoly" who gets recognized every where we go and never me watching the smiles on people's faces, the dancing when a track completely overwhelms you, the feeling like hey I can slide in here and enjoy and still not feel too old lol---no matter what you say Ian you are still a big deal in my books hee heee Dylan's enthusiasm while playing always makes me smile and Nunich rocking out to her man and them dancing in the pyramid in the morning while Nick and I laid on the mattress and chilled listening to Dub conscious which i enjoyed so much I enjoyed the "safe party pak" i was given by a bumble bee i think it included a condom, lube, ear plugs and a straw lol The giving genorosity that never happens to this extent in everyday life is one of my favorite things as well Meeting Nick " the watcher" and seeing his smiles and getting hugs! i heard that Jai saw you in the techno tent and i was sad i missed you but then caught up with you in the morning by the pyramid fire thank you Roland for fixing the technical issues that happened twice whilst we were there in the pyramid Our tent became party tent for the whole rest of the morning and even though i didn't get any sleep I still cherish the mornings hanging out with friends I told my friend Morgan that techno killed the emus and that during the last bit they heard they had their talons in the air pumping a leg! and that joke worked for him for hours which made me happy! so yeah i'm 86% back to normal now---it takes days and days now the rain i didn't feel ....there was only a mist that i noticed while we were traversing the trails and seeing it in the spotlight And surprisingly this was the first Harvest I was not cold....and i barely even danced?!...the old bones couldn't handle it And most of all I love sharing this experience with my fiance Jai Love you! Lost and Found
This is a long shot, but....
If anyone knows anyone who found a brown bear hat (with cute li'l ears on the top) in the techno tent - its owner is missing it dearly!!! Does Harvest have an official lost&found? If anyone has any info, please PM me. Thanks! |
