Kajama Party -Alieninflux and Promise

What a great night - the sky was clear and the peeps came out in gear - from latex zip ups to pirate gear ... arr Matey's the night had only just begun. The crew setup the boat with some great sound and mood red lighting; two bars were set up to serve.

I ventured out on my own not knowing to expect as this was my first late night Alieninflux and Promise party (shame on you preacherman). Glad to have run into Lysistrata and her crew just before boarding and once we did the night just set sailed from there.

LEE LEE - WOW WOW WOW - this gal laid down a great opening set and delivered it deep, sexy and groovy - the bass was just warm and fluffy enough and the rythms just wove their way through the speakers.

ILL.GATES + ENLIGHT - all dressed up in his Pirate garb Parrot and all, took the night in a whole different direction. A refresher set of sounds that I had not been familiar with; which made it worth while.

Enter HALI - finally I get the chance to see him do his dirty work. You know he had been anticipating this night for quite some time and he channeled that enregy beautifully from the incredible opening track to the last where he had to coach the Boat Crew about the nuances of taking out the bass to allow him to complete his set as the boat docked.

A few highlights for me was getting picked up by Neal (physically) since he did not believe I weighed as much as I did. Chatting with Tara only to bore her to death with my stories that she just told me to just get out there and dance

; then being offered a tangerine by Joel...after I accpeted his gracious offer and I began peeling the fruit he said just chuck it over board. I had to re-confirm what he said and so I obliged not realizing that he was talking about the peels and not the whole fruit so

A picturesque night with a great intimate crowd, organized by those who really know how to host a party from start to finish. WELL DONE!!!

its a good thing you wrote all that down, cause it doesn't seem you'll be remembering much of it otherwise... like most promise events in my experience.

once again, thank you promise & alien influx crew, what a solid freaking party.

had a blast chilling at Dylan and Nunichs w/ the crew, getting our night started.
headed down to the boat, and watched the orchestration of the gear and set up take place, milled about, puffing doobs and running into good friends, Dorianne & Kiera it was awesome to see you, been way to long. nice to meet you preacherman, i cant believe someone picked you up ! ( no small feat ) and kianz(sp?) regardless, its always better when you run into your favorite people to party with

got on the boat, and the weather was freaking fantastic, such a SICK night for partying, and Leelee thank you so much for a fantastic opening set, havent seen you play in months, and it was def a great treat, very intelligent set that just started chugging and grooving so nicely. great way to start the party off.

i think it was right after the set, that i was heading down to the bathroom
walking full stride, turned to go down the stairs, and didnt see the lip at the top, smoked my shin off it, and started to fall forward , luckily i was able to grab the two side rails, and just swung down, and land on some steps.

didnt think much of it....

till i got off the boat and was almost back to the car, and i noticed my leg was a little tender.

looked down , and saw this

but since i didnt really notice it till after the party, it clearly didnt prevent me from rocking out for dylans & enlights ENTIRE set.

A pirates life for me, Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum, Goddamn those tracks sounded sooo fucking sick, and the Kyza - Bar9(remix) was off the fucking hook on that system. thank you once again you beautiful whomping wanker for the audible onslaught.

then i grabbed something to drink, and hali started playing, the first 2/3's of his set were absolutely delicious, deep , grinding, chuggy beats with this amazingly perfect sound to go with the lulling feel of the boat.
the last third while still really good, was a little more chill and intelligent, but didnt have the same intensity the first 2/3's did. still amazing dood, thank you so much, man o man i hope to hell this was all recorded.

Justin Dave, Irving and crew, thank you for an AMAZING evening on the boat !!!

Dylan, Nunich, Silver, Nej, Adam, Carmen, Gizz, Dorianne, Keira, enlight, preacherman, kianz(sp?), the irish crew my buddy adam found, et all, and my darling BEM, what a GREAT fucking party, i cannot wait for.....

That was such a great night. The weather ended up agreeing with the cruise - a nice warm night, no rain or apocalyptic thunderstorms.

I had made a point to do a quick tour of the boat before intoxication set in and noticed that giant lip at the top of the stairs - so I was well aware to avoid smashing into it later on in the night.

The sets by all the DJ's were great - really enjoyed all the sets over the course of the night - had me dancing non-stop. Was neat dancing on the boat, as it got tossed around in the waves and lurched side to side - having to adjust how you dance to the movement of the boat.

Killer vibe that was very intimate - was nice meeting Preacher and Glych

Was nice to finally get around to going on this cruise - going to make a point to get out to the other ones next year. It really is a unique experience.
