although, it has already been said so many times in this thread -it occured to me on the train home yesterday so i will say it again- this was without a doubt the best breaks party i have ever been to

walked in to an already full house of heads while robb g was throwing down, and knew it was just going to be one of those nights where everything sounded perfect

checked out the 2nd room just in time to hear Repeated Groove
it got packed in there pretty quickly so we headed outside for some air before the krafty show started. made it back to the main floor for the end of FREAKSHOW, which was assumingly one of the first bombs he was about to drop.

ran into all the amazingly awesome people i was looking forward to seeing, and lost our minds on the dancefloor together. soso much birthday madness. we brought a camera but were way too busy dancing and having fun to take very many pictures

krafty completely exceeded my expectations. i was half expecting to hear the same set from radio shows in the weeks prior, but thankfully it was something altogether differently programmed. ending off with kurtis blow was the highlight of the party for sure...

stuck around for most of chu's set, and really got into it

HUGE thanks and props go to everyone who made this night possible, to all the DJs who played, and ofcourse to all my homies for the wishes and kisses all night, love you guys!

could not have imagined a better birthday for myself if i tried
-WE CAME TO PARTY-

peace.

you can buy it from the Against the Grain Records site in cd or mp3 form for cheaper than Ive seen it online anywhere else. but no idea about actual retail cd stores.

Didnt he end with Bob Marley Could you be loved? I distinctly remember krafty cutting between the record and the crowd singing and really giving it all!

I think everything has been said. Amazing jam. All aspects were great. Lots of faces I hadn't seen in a while, which is always nice. Best MIF to date and the sure leader for best party of the year imo.

I find myself in the Reverb FAR too often. (see: breaks DJ held too-dear by the all-ages scene which onl seems to use that venue, 2+ times a month.)

I've always tried to tell people that the Reverb doesn't suck. That it's the crowds it generally draws that are the problem. That it's a good sized venue with incredible sound and loose morals when it comes to last call..

This party proved my point, then took it out for dinner and drinks just to make it feel good about itself.

I have never seen that place so busy with so many good people having a good time to good music.

From the moment we walked in to Robb G "definitely NOT sucking", tearing things apart like he was playing a midnight slot, I knew the night was set to rule.

Moses Mayes were incredible. The only downfall to their set was debuting their sound to Toronto with the accompaniment of Brownman. Why, you ask? Simply because once Nick Ali starts playing the trumpet, every other member of any band he is playing with becomes completely secondary. The man is incredible.

Krafty was incredible as always. A true party DJ. He's technical, musical, and entertaining. One small note: We knew who you were after the first 15 digital shout-outs.

Either way, 2 hours of his insanity left me wiped and I only got a few records into Chu's set before I could hear my bed calling my name.

MiF, you guys done good. I haven't seen a party like that in a long time. I haven't danced that much in ever.

Do it again...soon.

I, too, am a not-usually-a-breaks-girl who ended up quite happy at this great night. I danced a ton, which must mean the music was good. I heard some mistakes from krafty kuts, but that happens, and he sure kept the energy up. And again with teh vibe - so many happy people dancing makes for a night where you can't be less than happy (or dancing) yourself.

Exactly what I was thinking...I almost expected to hear a wicka wick wicka BAD-BOY-BILL

It sounds like I was little bit spoiled for my first breaks party! I second the motion for best party of the year.

Definately the best breaks party I've been to. The energy from the crowd was amazing. Walked in during Robb G's set...which was rockin as usual! Went upstairs to hear Mike and Michie throwing down. I thought the floor was going to give b/c of all the peeps dancing!

Krafty Kuts blew me away. Right from start to finish. It was nice seeing old faces too. I was pretty drunk by the end of the night which made my dancing quite sloppy lol.

Thanks for a great party MiF!

You took the words right outta my mouth with the bolded bits here.

May I give a HUGE THANK YOU to the MiF organizers. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for bringing together AMAZING local and non-local LIVE talent and mixing it with AMAZING local and non-local DJ talent. It's unique, sets the MiF parties in a class of its own on the Toronto party scene, and it earns you triple gold stars with me.

My calf muscles still hurt today, which means i danced hard for a long time!

Sucks that you couldn't go outside to smoke after a certain time, but i guess dems da breaks! Get it? Da Breaks? Hahaha.

Apologies to ndrwrld and rhyss for dissapearing for pretty much the whole night. I found a spot on the other side of the dance floor that was primo real estate for a mover and shaker like me and didn't want to move from it.

P.S. I <3 breaks dancers. Best dancers on the party scene - i feed off it!
